Rodgers. I know it's only been one season but he's already finished higher than Wigan with less resources. To be fair, they both adopt great styles of football which is suited to Liverpool. I still feel that both need to progress naturally i.e. take the job at Villa and the move into a bigger job which is a big risk to take. It's the equivalent to an accounts assistant becoming the Finance Director of a FTSE 100 company (not exactly but you get the gist).
I do believe both have promising careers ahead of them and it's good to see young managers playing in the right spirit as they do. The sooner the likes of Pulis and Allardyce are out of the game, the better!

indeed. specifically the quantum leap being asked for here for the guys is mind boggling. Redknapp at least won the fa cup at pompey and played way above their level to get top 6.... (never minding it bankrupted them) I have to say arsenal picked wneger from monaco after the rioch disaster which was similar to appointing hodgson. he had a great debut year then won nothing for 4 years.... one wonders how much is luck and good judgement. Well, the last time we went for a relegation avoider doinq well in mid-table who deserved a shot at a big club it went swimmingly. He got to a Eufa Cup final, y'know, like Steve McLaren. And like McLaren is now England manager. Actually, I'd rather have Steve McLaren. At least he's won something recently, though that doesn't appear to impress our owners.
The bullet. Don't really mind who becomes manager, just as long as they don't resort to playing 9-0-1 formation instead of actually trying to win a game.
I like the idea of a young, dynamic, adventourous manager only if they progress within the club. Young, inexperienced managers are likely to struggle with the pressure and expectation when they come to Liverpool, which is why I opt for a slightly older manager with proven track record. If Martinez was to learn from under e.g. Rafa as a number 2 rather than being thrust straight into the limelight, I think it would be a better education for him and will be in a better position to apply that education. Similar to AVB as Mourinho's understudy at Porto, and Pep's education as Barca's reserve team coach.
Thats similar to what I said on another thread yesterday! I think FSG idea is great in theory but I think it needs to be started in the same fashion as the 'old boot room' whereby players are groomed to take over, Rafa with an understudy of either Rodgers or Martinez would be fantastic but its not going to happen, firstly they seem too tight to pay two managerial salaries and I don't think either of those two would take a step down. Rafa to take over for the next few years whilst integrating a system that brings through some sort of continuity in coaches would be the way I would go!
Yes possibly; although before Hyypia got the Leverkusen job I would have liked him to be offered it, I think that guy is going to be a very good manager.
