Bristol City v Forest has always been a fixture with some interest. Perhaps the most notable was semi-final of the league cup in 1989 ish... when as what is now a middle of the table league 1 side, Bristol City drew 1-1 with Forest at Forest' city ground, one of the top teams in 1st division. The return at Ashton Gate, was like playing on a ploughed field...and with about 2 minutes to go,,with the score 0-0, we hit the post- had it gone in Bristol City would have been in a cup final...but score remained 0-0, and to extra time when Forest nicked a goal and the win...... one of my memories of that game was Joe Jordon trying to plough his way through the mud with the ball towards the Forest goal..... Forward to 2013- and I wonder whether the Sean O'Driscoll factor will kick in, especially with McLeish's sacking this week....probably better if he kept his job at least until next Sunday from Bristol City's angle.... knowing how much antipathy there was to McLeish from many of the Forest fans.... certainly didn't help McLeish cause that Watford beat Forest 3-0 and then in the next match lost 2-0 to Bristol City whose manager who had been sacked to make way for McLeish.
