I reckon if every fan was given a blank sheet of paper and a pen and given 5 attempts to list the starting X1 v Norwich not one would have got it right. Tomorrow will be no different. EXCEPT you can bet your bottom dollar there will be starting berths for both Whittingham & Gunnarrsson. ...............................or can you
I agree. Im worried about this one. Connolly is miles better than Morrisson. Turner is miles better than Morrisson. Will Ole axe someone hes just spent a lot of money on. Connolly was one player who did well Saturday. Im concerned Ole will switch him to full back again. The midfield- you know what I havent a clue who he should pick. Hes made what looks like a load of average signings who all are either unfit or in Dikgacois case extremely unfit. Gunner too slow not mobile cant pass and playing as an attacking midfielder - bizarre. Though to his credit played well for 30 minutes before running out of gas and was at fault for losing the ball and giving away the ball for a goal. Right winger by the end of the game.!!!!???? Ralls - superb goal and for 30 minutes passed and moved and provided the mobility we needed. However again appeared to run out of gas and like Gunner gave the ball away. Whitts - slow - however he rarely the lost the ball on Saturday unlike others. Pilkington - a disappointment so far. Noone - not fit. Dikgacoi - do we even want to bring in someone who for some reason carries so much weight. Eikrem , Burgstaller , Adeyemi , - 1st 2 not even considered good enough for the bench. Daehli - a real talent - but will he cope in a team of misfiring midfielders. We need a settled , fit , organised team. As it stands we are an unorganised , unfit shambles with too many players signed who are not good enough and not fit enough. The improvement will only begin when the manager goes. I can see a big clear out in the transfer window.
Can't argue with any of that Hilts. Looks like our season is going to rise or fall on the back of Noonie's return - eventually.
Very true Nin, what's he done to upset Ole? Always looked a tidy player in his cameos. And a good scoring record in Spain.
tonights team Moore barnum bob connoley morrison john Noone whitts didachoi burgstaller Velajona Healey Whats the chances who knows.!!
Barnie, Noone, Dikgacoi all played yesterday in the Dev game so wont figure tonight. With Fabio apparently out of the frame, I can see Ole sticking Connolly out there at RB to accommodate Manga at CB - Morrison will probably stay there because I doubt Ole trusts Cala enough in a game that could shape his own future. Declan on the left must be a given despite his torrid time in the second half on Saturday. Midfield is a mystery worthy of Agatha Christie - a proper who dunnit (or more usually who didn't dunnit ) Up front it's much the same - pure guesswork from us, but if Ole plays another pure striker out of position out wide again, he'll prove he's not listening to the facts. At the risk of being accused of chopping and changing yet again, I'd give Kenwyne a place on the bench with a view to bringing him on later, and give Guerra a shot at it up front. DEFINITELY 5 in midfield is the answer - and 5 bloody midfielders to boot, not to include a converted striker!
I'd play Connelly left back. He was our best player on Saturday but we need to sort out the left side of defence and I'm sure Manga will start. Or if Brayford is happy to switch sides then let Connelly play rb. At least that way all 4 of our defenders can defend. I'd bring in Adeyami for Macheda. I agree with Ole that Macheda was a key part of our success first 35 minutes. As I am not blind I could see with everyone else that he was totally f**ed after 50 minutes also though. I'd be looking to introduce him around the 60 minute mark. Brayford Manga Morrison Connolly Daehli Witts Gunnar Adeymi Ralls KWJ
Oh Danny, Danny.............Danny, Danny, Danny Gabbidon." What chance OGS will go so far outside the box and pick him? Although I say this more in jest, he did play Gunnarsson on the right wing for the 2nd half v Norwich so anything is possible.
Hmmm, OK, interesting. Cardiff City 01 Marshall 16 Connolly 02 Brayford 05 Ecuele Manga 04 Torres Ruiz 19 Pilkington 20 Daehli 07 Whittingham 18 Adeyemi 14 Macheda 09 Jones Substitutes 10 Le Fondre 15 Wolff Eikrem 17 Gunnarsson 22 Javi Guerra 30 Burgstaller 33 Moore 39 Gabbidon
Ole needs to pick 18 players and a formation, stick to the same starting 11 for a few games with the odd change as necessary. Too many changes again tonight.
