I think you should stick with Roberto. He's got you to two finals, and your team looks solid defensively and dangerous in attack. Drogba and Torres have both looked on better form under Di Matteo. Roberto should get the job IMO.
Guardiola will find it a massive test at another big club, he has been very protected at barca where he's had a very well organised establishment behind him. he is completely untested out side barca and he will be starting from scratch, i would not want him at chelsea.
However, the news may well leave Roman choking on his Kholodets. You can bet he'll be making a personal call and arranging for Pepe to have a relaxing break on his little yacht! The main issue (whether he comes or not) is the potential disruption that the news will cause between now and the end of this season. The team and coaches & everyone are getting on well and playing for each other right now. The though of this hanging over everyone is not good news. Let's face it, we'll have no say on the next manager, and as long as it's not the fat Spanish waiter then it's a bonus.
I think Pep is just another Chelsea accident waiting to happen, dont want him here.Is he a great manager or someone who inherited a great bunch of players at the same time ? Will be madness and will make us look plain fukin stupid (again)if we dont give the job to Robbie, surely he has earned a chance after saving our season.
Well Pep wants a break, Jose is staying at Madrid so give it to Robbie and if things dont work out, Pep and Jose may still be options next summer. Bad timing though Pep. Puts more conjecture out there regarding Robbie's position and what effect will this have on Barca and their remaining games?? Pretty poor IMO, could have waited a couple of weeks.
Want Di Matteo to stay on at Chelsea. He is doing a magnificent job here reaching two finals is incredible.
I see Pep having a break for a couple of years then possibly taking over at Man Utd when SAF retires. Not being disrespectful, but he seriously needs to stay away from Roman and his money. Could end in tears and seriously damage his long term career.
To be honest I don't actually want him here at this stage, unless he was to be as honorable with us as he was with Barca and take a one year rolling contract, but even then I would have a huge issue with overlooking Di Matteo Edit: The more I think about it, it's a no from me...RDM all the way
Now, I like the idea of keeping Roberto as coach would find it interesting if Pepe came with a few Barca players.......but which one do I like best? There's only one way to find out...... FIGHT
All this said, you have to admire Guardiolas integrity and career to date, as a player and coach. Go to 1:43 on this clip from the BBC today about his resignation: Skillz
like he is going to have a two year break and then step into fergies shoes??? i think that could well end in tears
Peps having a year off and RDM is getting ready to win the quadruple next year!!! You read it here first! <smiley>
Another way to look at it is that Pep would be a lunatic to take on Chelsea. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest Abramovich has learned a thing this year, in fact not giving the job to Robbie already suggests he actually hasn't !!!! Stay away Pep, leave Chelsea alone if you've any sense, , this is where the patients are running the asylum.
Just from a neutral ( and honest qpr) point of view. I dont understand how or why even, Roman is looking anyfurther than RDM. Hasnt he achieved all you have wanted this season (well almost)? Honestly not meant as a wind up, but seriously, this guy got you out of the s**T and into the CL final ffs. Give him some credit AND the managers job. Just my opinion though
