http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/may/05/hull-city-cardiff-city-championship My God who is this idiot who wrote this ****e?
Yup - Comparing Allam to the Thais - Big no-no. Allam was made in Hull and it is local money going into the club. Second, They're Making direct eference to Fraizer and say we have no-on with pace, or indeed a decent scoring ratio. They then extrapolate Campbells return over half a season to equate to a decent record. No mention of Aluko. Very poor indeed, and has somewhat sullied the Guardian's reputation for quality journalism in my eyes. Reporter either ignorant or writing from a vested point of view. Either way it is shockingly poor. Shame comments aren't open on the report. Probably that way for a reason.
He is on Twitter @Joe_Lovejoy, recognised the name think he used to write for either the Mirror or the Daily Mail
When I read it earlier I'm sure he'd said something about both clubs having foreign owners even though it wasn't relevent to the point they were making, so I'd say it was the Mail he used to write for.
Mail on Sunday/ The Independent according to google. The point about the strikers overlooks Aluko/Fryatt not to mention Proschwitz possibly fulling his potential.
What a load of ****e, bad journalism. Quite a good article in the Telegraph though. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...otion-after-suffering-pain-and-rejection.html
I'm with you, I think the article is actually very true, other than not recognising Allam as being a local of 50 years adn not mentioning that Sone Aluko would have easily knocked in double figures were he not injured.
Daily Mail is one end of the spectrum and The Guardian is at the other..... best to find a paper somewhere in the middle, something like the yorkshire post
when will we ever shake off Humberside . .. it was never a geographical location , at best it can be classed as an Adjective
Everyone is missing the biggest mistake. We did not go up thanks to Leeds. A draw was enough. Leeds winning changed nothing. You would think a Journo would know this..
And the timing of the games is irrelevant. If we'd drawn with Cardiff three weeks ago and beaten Ipswich this weekend would our promotion somehow be more valid because 'we won it ourselves'?
a brief look at the table would have told him this.. lazy journalism. You sure he doesnt work for HDF? what was important was that Watfud didn't get a point.
And yet yesterday, the Observor (Aka as the Sunday Guardian) had a good report on the match and a positive piece of Hull wanting to be City of Culture in their main section.
Most journalists only look at the Premier League and only focus on the NPC when there is a team on the rise or something of note. Teams are promoted every season so we're nothing new here. Henry Winter doesn't even mention the NPC whatsoever, but tweeted about us on Saturday in a congratulatory way. We were the lead story on Soccer Supplement. I suggest if you don't like reading about us then jump off the bus now as there are going to be massive inaccuracies for quite some time to come.
Am I missing something? Can somebody explain to me exactly what is wrong with this article? For me it is a wholly accurate account of the game and in the context of the season. What exactly is the gripe here?
