She couldnt hjave been much more wrong really. Paulinho wasnt that bad but Id say Soldado was probably the worst signing of the season, or actually perhaps Lamela cos he never actually played. And Santon always played left back for Inter, Zanetti and Maicon were right back.
on this theme, 8 out of 11 tipped us to go down (and one other said we would struggle). They all fell for the trap. In 17 out of 22 PL seasons, either none of promoted teams went down, or just one. So each year I have a bet on all three staying up, on the basis that at least 2 will likely stay up. Each year I make a small profit. I feel smug.
And in the Daily Mirror it was 13/13 forecasting we would go down: Mark Lawrenson - 20th Robbie Savage - 19th Oliver Holt - 20th Martin Lipman - 19th John Cross - 19th Darren Lewis - 20th Neil McLeman - 18th Mike Walters - 20th James Nursey - 19th David McDonnell - 19th David Anderson - 19th David Maddock - 19th Simon Bird - 19th
on a roll now. Daily Mail (15/15): Carragher - 20th Keown - 20th Clayton - 18th Ashman - 20th Ladyman - 20th Barlow - 18th Williamson - 18th King - 20th Kay - 19th Mokbel - 18th Moxley - 19th Al-Samarri - 19th Cass - 19th Powell - 19th Cunningham - 18th
Strange he would say that as he said on MOTD or Football Focus at the start of the season we had the best chance of the promoted teams because of Steve Bruce, If I remember rightly he said Palace Cardiff and Sunderland.
I was going to say the same. On the first FF of the season he defintiely predicted us to stay up. On the flipside and to be fair to the tipsters, I bet if you asked every poster on this board to name the 3 teams who will go down next season, 90% will name Burnley and / or the play-off winners.
