Pretty much spot on. I don't think any team we picked would have got the result yesterday as City seemed up for it and it's a very hard place to go, probably hardest in the league these last couple of years.

However, given it has been glaringly obvious that the central midfield has been a problem for a while and that Luiz has been a bit of a revelation in that position, it seemed verging on incompetant not to start him there yesterday. His drive and industry (as well as passing ability) would have provided some better protection for the defence and perhaps more of a base for going forward.

Lampard and Mikel are both players that have something to offer in the right set up, but together they don't seem to work; and this was one of the key reasons for the team doing so poorly in the lead up to RDM sacking.

It's very easy with hindsight to slag off the manager, and perhaps he is doing the best he can. But the Luiz one is a mystery to me. Maybe we buy Fellaini in the summer and he plays that role but for now, until the end of the season I think Luiz has to play in midfield as long as we have 2 other fit centre halves - like we did yesterday.

Problem 2 - Apparently we had 1 shot on target (the penalty i guess). How is that happening?!?!? Doesn't matter if you start Ba, Torres or mickey ****ing mouse. No one will score if chances aren't being created.

Really, Really worried about top 4 now - how is that even possible given how poor Newcastle, Liverpool and Arsenal have been?!!?

surely if the team had of gone for city from the off we would of had more chance of a result than expecting to be able to play for a draw.

I cant accept the bit about Lamps looking his age! As far as I'm concerned they (Apart from Cech) all all looked like OAP's.

Bit harsh as well when you consider the form Lampard's been in of late and that Rodwell's good performance was very much out of character.

Lamps is entitled to an off day after his great recent form. Mikel can't do the job of all the midfielders. The blame is squarely on fat boy. He picked yet another unbalanced mid field and that was the start and end of it.
