Former defender for both Spurs and Bolton is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the leg.

Was at Spurs between '88 and '94 and then went to Bolton where he was there between '95 and '03.

Can't say I remember him, was only a toddler at the time but none the less want to wish him all the best. Hope he has a speedy recovery <ok>

Apparently he's a lawyer now and he was stabbed defending a colleague, who was also injured in the attack.
The attacker's been arrested on unrelated charges.
Bergsson's already out of hospital and his colleague's recovering well, by all accounts.

Well done to him for protecting his workmate and I hope he makes a quick and full recovery. <ok>

Read that too. I have zero recollection of him at our club.

    Sad news though, obviously.

There's a pattern of our former defenders getting stabbed in the leg - first it was Callum Davenport, now Gudni Bergsson.

Good luck to him: he's two good things: a Spur and an Icelander. Unless some other language uses "eth," ð and I'm thinking not.

Davenport was only a defender in the loosest sense of the word.

  14. You're not alone DM - I remember him quite well. Never really became a regular for us but played plenty of games, probably 80-100 I would think. He went to Bolton and was very popular.
Wish him well, even with his chosen profession....

I remember him being decent and unspectacular, for both us and Bolton.
We've had better and we've also had far worse.

I thought he was a decent player for us back then, although he didn't get much grass on his shirt he did well., So 'get well soon' Gudni.
