Formal plans were submitted today - we hold our collective breath now for the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham reaction. No date yet.
I do so hope this scheme goes through,it would make the Cottage a unique ground. Part early 20th century structure with 21 century technology, coupled with a great vista
Very pleased to see that the beautiful Archibald Leitch stand is to be preserved within the new development - hope you get the thumbs up without too much delay.
The plans will be published on the LBHF website "in the next couple of weeks". The club are holding another exhibition at the end of this month. Here is the Council's statement made today - http://http://www.lbhf.gov.uk/Directory/News/Fulham_FC_submits_planning_application.asp#4
There a rumor on twitter, mohamed al-fayed is interested in looking to leave a legacy by building a gold statue of himself next to michael jackson which will cost 10m, which mean Fulham will not be involved in the window transfer this month
Plans for the development look excellent. As the development is on the West side (away from housing) and improves public (non matchday) amenities, it would seem to be very positive for the immediate vicinity community. From the CGI sketches it looks like Hammy end could be next - up to 36k or so if Putney end could be double tiered eventually.
I'm not being a luddite or anything but I do so love our ground the way it is. I've been going there for over 40 years and think it is a terrific place to watch football when compared with those modern soulless bowls like the JJB, Pride Park, The Stadium of S**te and so on. If we get the go ahead I hope it doesn't end up like that.
As long as we never get rid of the cottage in the corner we will always have the most unique ground in the league. I don't think these developments are in danger of ruining the character of the ground.
The Michael Jackson statue cost less than half of what you pay Joey Barton a week. I know what I would rather spend my money on.
Spot-on posting Val! And I just love my wooden seats in the old JH Stand. Good luck to the club with these plans. And..... dave - just go back to your own board, and leave us in peace. C O Y W
Worrying part for me is there is a growing number of supporters on the Fulham fanscene blog who are advocating we move to Stamford bridge when Chelsea moves on,which no doubt they will.
I'm not sure we could fill Stamford Bridge to be honest. Their ground is also about 30 seconds away from the tube station, couldn't we move Bishops Park to ensure we get to keep our lovely walk to the ground? We can also play water sounds over the speakers in the stadium to make it feel like we are still on the Thames.
Here are the the main document in the planning application - http://http://www.idoxwam1.lbhf.gov.uk/WAM/doc/Planning%20Apps%20%7C%20Applicant%20Supporting%20Statement-844419.pdf?extension=.pdf&id=844419&location=VOLUME1&contentType=application/pdf&pageCount=1&appid=1001 And the Hammersmith and Fulham latest - http://http://www.apps.lbhf.gov.uk/PublicAccess/tdc/DcApplication/application_detailview.aspx?caseno=LXL9NFBI0IE00 I think it's terrific.
leave dave alone he is only having a laugh. as much as i want to see the ground developed. as a ffc fan for 40 years i will believe it when i see it, not being negative, but never count my chickens
