This thread is for all the news and build up to Saturdays game at Grimsby its also the match day thread. Don't forget to vote on the poll it closes on Saturday at 3:36pm. Anyway I can't see us getting anything from this game to be honest (just a gut feeling). My heart says a draw my head says a defeat. That said Grimsby have lost 5 games at Blundell Park this season but IMO this wont be the sixth I really hope I'm wrong. My prediction: Grimsby 2 - 1 Gas
Grimsby may feel the pressure here. They know they need to win this game. A defeat for them could effect their own play off push. Really its a must win game for us both. A draw wouldnt be a bad on paper but it wont be ideal for either of us. I think due to our defensive displays this season, Grimsby may find it hard to break us down. They will need to worry about us because Dawson & Taylor will worry them, along with Blissetts height as well. Our set plays is good with corners and free kicks so I think Grimsby wont be playing their usual game. I just hope our players are up for it and if they are, we will win this game. I say 2-0 Rovers.
Yeah, to my way of thinking before the Macc Lads got their win in midweek a draw here wouldn't of been a bad result but now I think this has to be a must win game if we are to keep in contention with that coveted top spot finish. The manager and players will know this so hopefully they will be up for a three point display, one nil will do me.

All you need to know about tomorrow's opponents Bristol Rovers make the 460 mile round trip to Blundell Park to take on fellow promotion chasers Grimsby Town. Rovers: The men in blue and white are unbeaten in 13 games on the road this season with Rovers boss Darrell Clarke wanting to turn more of those draws into wins, starting with tomorrow's fixture. Team News: Rovers still look to be without midfield pair Ollie Clarke and Stuart Sinclair. Darrell's View: "On paper it is a very difficult game, Grimsby have been there or there abouts most of the season and have lost in previous playoff finals and have probably been unfortunate not to go up over the last few years. "They've got a very good manager in Paul Hurst and they've got some good players so it is going to be a very difficult game. "We will be going there full of confidence and we will be doing all we can to try and win the game. Opposition: Tomorrow's opponents Grimsby Town sit one place below Rovers in the Vanarama Conference Premier table but are five points adrift of Darrell Clarke's men. The Mariners go into the game off the back of a 2-1 loss last weekend to Forest Green Rovers thanks to an 84th minute effort from James Norwood. Dangerman - Lenell John-Lewis: John-Lewis has hit the back of the net and impressive 13 times this season, most recently in the Mariners comeback victory over league leaders Barnet almost a month ago. Lennell signed an 18 month deal in February 2013 joining from Bury and after scoring his fair share of goals last season was rewarded with a two-year contract extension. Last Meeting: Rovers kicked off their first season in the conference entertaining Grimsby as these two sides played out a dull 0-0 at the Memorial Stadium back in August with Stuart Sinclair, Ollie Clarke, Matty Taylor and skipper Mark McChrystal all having efforts within the last 20 minutes but none of them were able to find the back of the net.
Line-Up: Rovers: Mildenhall, Leadbitter, McChrystal (C), Parkes, Brown, Dawson, Lockyer, Mansell, Monkhouse, Taylor, Blissett. Substitutes: Trotman, Wakefield, Gosling, Balanta, Harrison.
Grimsby Line-Up: McKeown; Magnay, Robertson, Pearson, Nsiala; Clay, Disley, Mackreth, Arnold, Jolley; John-Lewis Substitutes: Bignot, Hannah, Parslow, McLaughlin & Watson
Rival watch........ Looking up: Southport vs MACCLESFIELD & Wrexham vs BARNET. Looking behind: Altrincham vs FGR, EASTLEIGH vs Torquay & KIDDERMINSTER vs WOKING.
Nothing at all to report. Been poor and nothing actually happening. As I typed the above, Rovers attacked and Taylor shot was deflected and easy save by the keeper.
