Another great football subbed Tottenham, Chelsea and England legend Jimmy Greaves, a 1966 World Cup winner, one of English football's greatest-ever goal scorers and much loved TV pundit, dies aged 81 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...legend-Jimmy-Greaves-passes-away-aged-81.html
Very intelligent guy also, his Autobiography is a cracking read. My old boys favourite ever player (Spurs fan) Sleeping were no shadows fall
Probably one of very few players that both Chelsea and Spurs like?( I am just assuming that Chelsea fans like him as his goal/games ratio for them was fantastico)
He was quite good looking and quite hard looking when he was young: please log in to view this image Looked totally different when him and Saint were on telly: please log in to view this image Whilst researching I discovered the "missing link" as it were: please log in to view this image
Unusual for any English player to be compared to Messi but that was indeed the graceful silky smooth style of his play. On mud track pitches as well, with balls the weight of canon balls. 'It's a funny old game...'
Aye, it should be. Seems like none of this happens until the person dies. Most of the greatness about Greaves as a player is only being highlighted now.
