With relegation to League One now confirmed, the Irishman is hoping to experience the highs of promotion next season, as the Robins look for an instant return to the second tier. âIt has been a disappointing season to say the least,â Cunningham told Bristol City Player. âUp until it was mathematically confirmed we were always hopeful we could avoid the drop. âIt is one of the worst feelings in football and one I donât ever want to feel again. We must keep going until the end of the season and look to finish on a high. âEveryone needs to go away in the summer, clear our heads and get ready for the challenge of League One.â Having signed from Manchester City last summer, the 22-year-old still has three years remaining on his contract. And he added: âIâm happy with the amount of games Iâve played and Iâve given my all every time. âI havenât had any talks about my future; Iâve got three years left on my contract, which says it all.â Sounds good from our talented LB and it sounds from his interview that he is here for the future and will help us get back to the championship. Looked positive to me, although he did mention the bit about clubs showing an interest, would be a great piece of work by the club if we could manage to keep hold of him, young, enthusiastic and talented! OK so I'm kidding myself expect him to be gone for a fair sized fee come next season.
