Hi there, I from a Bolton Wanderers forum called Burnden Aces. We run a Q&A feature where we get the views of opposition fans. If you'd like to take part, just answer the following questions: Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday?
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? Great so far, most enjoyable season for a while With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? Absolutely, the signing of Boyd can only help our automatic promotion push Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? I think mid table is on the cards for Bolton Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? Hes been great when he has played, but hes been in and out the starting 11 really, unfortunately he is injured at the moment Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? Massive, we play much better football and without him we wouldn't have been able to secure players like Aluko and Meyler and we defiantly wouldn't be sitting second Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? It's a great signing, if he is half as good as the Peterborough fans made out he was for them we will be going up Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? The wing backs are key to how we play, so Elmo and Brady are the ones to watch, Gedo has been on fire recently as well. However all 11 played briliantly against Blackburn Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? I really rate Chris Eagles as a player don't know much about his goal threat but i believe he has the most assists in the division this year? And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? Hopefully another win for the tigers, I'm going 0-2
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? Beyond our expectations in all honestly but so enjoyable, playing some of the best football i've seen by a city team With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? No doubt about it, it's going to be a hard last 1/4 of the season though but we have the momentum and advantage over some of the teams below, i'm worried about watford though Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? I think consolidation is in order for Bolton this season, it's always difficult to push for promotion straight after relegation, i think you'll do well next season though Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? Was fantastic earlier in the season and ofcourse grabbing some vital goals, however due to injury and the performances of our other halves, he has had limited time recently Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? Massive impact, his experience of managing so called 'smaller teams' in both promotion and keeping teams in the premiership has been vital as well as being in the know to attract Elmohamady, Aluko and Meyler. Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? He had a 'blinder' at the kc earlier in the season and seems to get assists left right and centre added with a few goals and his pace, should be a good signing especially with Aluko almost certainly out for the season Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? Elmohamady and on current form Gedo, Elmo has pace, takes his man and whips brilliant early crosses and Gedo's movement in and around the box will be a challenge for your defensive line Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? I'd say Eagles, Sordell and N'gog on their games but obviously that's not too often hence your league position, i think Knight can be a threat in set peices And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? I think it's going to be extremely tight.. a 1-1 draw or a sneaky 2-1 win for city!
Having talked us up, I expect we'll do a 'typical City' and get beat. Why no mention of the City Legend Sam Ricketts? Phil Brown made a big mistake letting him go. And why no mention of the sudden making of the game all ticket? What's that all about?
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? It's been very surprising for most of us fans here, although we did expect good things with the appointment of Steve Bruce many wasn't too sure and had sour grapes for a while after the Barmby sacking, which was then fueled when he signed his son Alex Bruce (A very welcome addition to the team) but he has certainly proved himself and we're playing some great football. If it wasn't for silly losses to teams like Peterborough we'd be much closer if not above Cardiff. With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? Promotion is on the cards, although it's not guaranteed however i do believe we will finish in atleast a play off spot but if we don't go up automatically i have a bad feeling we will lose out in the play offs Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? Promotion push? You'd be lucky, Bolton have been VERY inconsistent this season which surprised me personally as i imagined you to be challenging, i think a few additions over the summer and you should be up there next season. Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? He's a handful in the box, although he's slow he really holds our back line together and always puts 100% into his game. Class player, not many like him still about. Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? As said above, it was a 50/50 signing bringing him to the KC it was one of those that would either go really well and really badly, so far it's in our advantage and he has made great signing especially using our egyptian links to sign Gedo, along with a few from Sunderland such as Meyler and Elmo. Turned us into a solid team and he speaks to the fans clearly which we have lacked with previous managers. Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? Well he has certainly provided Posh with some goals, and has 6 for them this season. He could prove to be a missing link, but maybe not. I think the way Bruce uses loans is great for the club, much like a try before you buy. If he impressed i wouldn't be surprised to see him sign during the summer, personally i don't think a Winger is what we need right now, probably just back up for Elmo and Brady Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? Gedo! Our new egyptian signing, currently has 3 in 3 Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? Chris Eagles not only scores goals, but provides them too...very well infact And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? Bolton 0-2 Hull City
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? I think we all would have taken our current position at the start of the season. If we don't go up i think we will die trying. We seem a far more complete side from last year, although we still lack that cutting edge in front of goal although Gedo may have ended that problem. With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? The division is so up and down, yet i think our consistent so far shows we can do it. We just need to keep playing the way we are doing. The past three games have shown we can perform when it really matters, which is really encouraging. Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? Either quite frankly thats how tight the division is, oersonally i don't feel Dougie has really connected with the squad there yet and i think another summer of dealing may be in order before you challenge. Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? Personally i am a huge fan of him like most City fans and he would be in my starting XI. He came in mainly to cover for the loss of Jack Hobbs and he played excellently, injuries have being an issue, but what can you expect at his age. Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? Elmohammady would be my pick, he has tore teams apart this season. Blackburn played a centre half on the wing to mark him but he still got the best of him and the LB, his crosses and dribbling really are Premier League quality. Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? I have to admit i am an Eagles fan but teams have done well playing pacey strikers up front against us so Sordell and N'gog will be a danger. And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? We have played really well the last few games and i think we will continue that with a 2-1 win.
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? Fantastic. It has definitely surpassed expectations. With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? A possibility, yes, but Watford, Palace and Leicester are all more than capable of overtaking us. Our use of the loan system in the past few weeks could be what takes us back to the top-flight. Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? Relegation is more likely, but there are far worse teams in much worse form. Birmingham City, Huddersfield Town, Bristol City, Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday, for instance. The experience of last season's relegation should mean the players have some experience of the situation too, albeit in a different division. Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? He's had the odd bad game, but by-and-large his performances have been pretty solid. What he lacks in pace and stamina he makes up for with his aerial prowess, strength and reading of the game. He hasn't played so much in recent months though. Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? A massive impact. Under Nigel Pearson everything was dour, depressing and secretive. Things improved a little under Nick Barmby but he clearly had a strained relationship with the owners. Bruce also seems to prefer playing to win, as opposed to setting his teams up just to avoid defeat like the two previous managers. Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? He's a decent player at this level, and should offer something different going forward. I'm pleased that he's come in. Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? Ahmed Elmohamady is a fantastic crosser of the ball. We don't really have anybody up-front who's great in the air, but it only takes one bounce or dropped ball from the keeper to present one of our players with an opportunity Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? Chung-Yong Lee and Marvin Sordell And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? Bolton Wanderers 3-0 Hull City
We don't score many but let even fewer in. I don't think there will be much in this game but we have just won three in a row so I expect confidence to be high. 1-0 to City.
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? Bar the dip in form in January, it's been faultless so far really. With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? It's a possibility, as it is for anyone from about 1st right down to the top of the bottom half... find yourselves in the play-offs and form goes out the window. I'd like to think we can keep up with Cardiff, but Watford are looking very strong - I had a look at their upcoming fixtures and they don't really have any tough fixtures until they play us in April... but they do have quite a tough run-in. Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? I rate Freedman as a manager - I think it'll be a bridge too far for you this season, but I think next season you could be a force. Freedman still seems to be settling his own side together, which brings about unpredictable results. Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? Solid, until he gets tired and/or injured. Shame he's not 5 years younger. Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? A massive impact - I wasn't too sure at first, but he's attracted some quality players to the club, got us playing some good football, and once he got the players he needed to complete the jigsaw, we haven't looked back. Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? A very good signing. Will add more goal-scoring opportunities, and hopefully add a few himself. Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? Probably the strike partnership of N'gog and C.Davies - they've looked good recently. And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? This league is too unpredictable to be honest - look at Peterborough; beat us, Leicester and Cardiff. After 3 hard-fought home wins in a week, I wouldn't put it past us to go complete opposite with our (until recently) impressive away record and lose a game many will have seen as an easier game than some of the last 3.
I think the questions have been ably answered already, I'll just say I think that Boyd is an inspired signing, Bruce has surpassed expectations more than the team and I have no bloody idea what the score will be on Saturday. You've got to love the Championship.
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? Outstanding. We are where we are without even having a goalscoring striker which says how well the team are doing to make up for that. With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? We've as good as chance as any as we have come through a rocky patch and got our momentum back without seeming to lose any ground at all. Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? Sorry, don't know enough about Bolton to answer that. Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? Lots of experience when he's played and very powerful. Reminds me of when we had Boateng in the Premiership, not a defender as such but a powerful lad and helped with his experience. Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? Many people were sceptical (myself included) when he came but he has injected a lot of positivity and brought some outstanding players to the club. Goes to show never draw conclusions until a manager or player has proven themselves. Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? He looks like a very high quality player to me. Our guy who is a bit similar Koren is getting on a bit so he could be a like for like replacement for him if needed and also can play on the wings which gives us massive strength in depth. Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? Gedo looks like he can score every match he plays, a bit like our own Stuey Elliot a few years ago. Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? Can't answer that. I do think that Sordell looks like a black Ozil but whether he plays like him, can't answer that one but I doubt it! And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? Given that we are usually good away and we already smashed you this season I will take us for the win, maybe 2-0 with one of our Egyptians scoring.
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? Our position says it all, first class With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? Absolutely, may even challenge Cardiff for the title Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? mid table 10 - 12 Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? He has served a purpose when required Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? Bruce is the reason we are where we are Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? All of them Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? All of them And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? Bolton 0 - 1 Hull City
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? Great, every season has it ups and downs but our ups have been far greater than the downs With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? A possibility? Clearly. Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? mid table Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? good, for a team that scores as few goals as ours those 4 goals have been huge Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? We wouldnt be 2nd if he hadnt joined us Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? Probably a good signing but time will tell Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? If there was only one we wouldnt be 2nd. We have no one in the top goal scoring list so that should tell you that we win by a combined effort. It will take you shutting down multiple players to beat us just one will not do. Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? Cant see SB worrying about a single player. We didnt get where we are by a one dimensional defensive strategy. I am sure that we will concentrate on everyone you have and whatever formation you throw at us. And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? Bolton 1 - 2 Hull City as it is the only scoreline I ever predict.
Nothing much to add except that you were only our nemesis when you had the best shot-stopper in the game between the sticks, Jussi was simply outstanding! This is an excellent thread and you are a credit to your club.
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? Brilliant, we've had some amazing performances and the club has shown its potential. With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? Yes, with Boyd signing that also makes a huge difference and Gedo is just a natural poacher. Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? I expect you to finish around mid table and build next season, Dougie Freedman is a good manager and the club has a lot of quality players. Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? Obviously his fatigue doesn't allow him to play too much and he's injured at the minute, but when he plays he's been absolutely brilliant. He's played in the middle of the centre halves which worked perfectly as he's not as mobile as he once was. But when he's played he's been so impressive, even though competition for places are centre half is big. Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? Some people weren't so optimistic, I was but that's just me. He's been absolutely brilliant, no other manager or fan would of thought that 3 at the back would of been best for us. Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? Shows our ambition really, he's a great player we all know that and I would slot him straight into our team in place of Koren. Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? I would say our two wing backs, Brady and Elmo have been unbelievable. Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? Chris Eagles for me, he's a player I've always rated. And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? I aren't feeling overly confident, I'm just so gutted I couldn't get tickets. I'm hopeful for a 0-1. This is a good thread, thanks a lot guys and good luck for the rest of the season. Starting at 5 on saturday of course
Hull currently sit in second place in the Championship. How has this season been for you so far? Great. There have been a few ups and downs, but expectations have been exceeded. With you occupying an automatic promotion spot 33 games into the season, do you think promotion is a possibility for you this season? Definitely. Meanwhile, Bolton are in 16th place. Do you think a late promotion push could be on the cards, or even a relegation scrap? I think that a promotion place than a relegation scrap, but I think you'll be comfortably mid-table. Former Wanderer Abdoulaye Faye is currently on the books at the KC Stadium, and has four goals to his name so far this season. How has he been playing? He is currently injured. But when he has played, he has played very well. Scoring 4 goals for us in a team that scores relatively few has also had a big impact. Steve Bruce took over as Hull manager in the summer. How much of an impact did his arrival have? Without him, we would not be in the position we are currently in. We probably wouldn't have got some of our key players either, such as Quinn, Elmohamady and Aluko. Hull have just signed George Boyd on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season. What do you think of this signing? It looks like a great signing, as he is a good player. What he plays like for us though, only time will tell. Which player should the Wanderers be most wary of on Saturday? You should be worrying aboutmost of the squad, but if I had to pick one player, it would be Elmohamady. Which Bolton player do you think Steve Bruce will be ear marking as a potential threat to the Tigers' goal? If I had to pick one, probably Chris Eagles. And finally, what do you think the final score will be at the Reebok on Saturday? Sorry lads, but I think it'll be Bolton 0-2 Hull City.
I was worried about this game, but as Erik has now predicted us to lose 3-0 (again) I am more confident of a victory for us
