The Chairboys start the New Year by entertaining the Grecians with ex Chairboys Craig Woodman and Tommy Doherty in their ranks although the latter is unlikely to feature. The Chairboys are boosted by the welcome return of Joel Grant and the probable return of Big Dave and Deano from their hamstring tweaks and having taken 10pts out of a possible 15 in December go into this mid-table clash in a confident frame of mind. The Grecians boast an impressive away record but if we can keep their top scorer Jammy Cureton quiet (yes intentional not a spelling mistake) we should start the year off with our first points. http://www.wycombe.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=303957
This will a tough game with their away form so i'd be happy with a point.Good to see some injured players coming back and Grant from suspension.
Will be a tough game so a point wouldn't be the worst thing. I'm a bit skeptical about Morgan and Winfield being back as they had hoped they would be ready for Bradford, then for Cheltenham and then for Plymouth so I will believe it when I see it! Good to have Grant back though.
According to Dean Morgan's twitter he'll be back, I certainly hope so. Having Grant back will be fantastic. Wish I was going tomorrow but it's my Dad's birthday and he's a rugby fan
a tough game today but ainsworth has done wonders so far without loads of first teamers available and the return of grant will boost the lads .come on you blues
Against 10 men (their danger man sent off), missed penalty, own goal. Looking like 3 points thrown away.
Disaster. No front line. Couldn't keep the ball down at all. Didn't deserve to win by the sounds of it but still 3 points thrown away by missing the penalty against 10 men.
Sounds like it was a good choice of mine to work today double time at least I can afford to drown my sorrows
we simpily were not at the races today. to be against 10 men for half the macth and to lose is not aceptable. didnt help that we were up against a ref who seemed to be guessing blindly and a keeper who made one phenominal save from hause (i think). as for the penalty, it was poor from joel but seemed to go in fine. does anyone know what it was actually disallowed for? sam wood was amazing today and its hard to fault stewart or hause. however kuffour was poor again, mcclure had an off day and dean morgan just did not look bothered about being there and walked about moaning. as for lewis he had a good game but a really slack pass ultimatly cost us. having said that he was basically running the midfield himself, spring was terrible. the sooner scowen is back the better gaz surprised me with his last sub as well, why take of mccoy for the new guy who i believe is a defender anyway there were some positives to take but we need to be a lot more clinical in attack if we are to finish off chesterfield
Commentary said it was disallowed for handball and I have actually seen footage of it from a camera phone video. It looked like it did possibly go in off a hand though the video quality wasnt the best. Kuffour has been dreadful. 15 games or so and no goal and the problem is he never looks like scoring. Its not that he has having a lot of shots that are saved or hitting the post. Morgan (if fit) and McClure must be first choice. I would call Olly Taylor back from his loan as well, as he would offer so much more than Kuffour and Oli put together! Its surely not a risk to give Taylor some game time if Oli and Kuffour are not scoring anyway.
