For me it has to be the winning of the America's Cup by Australia in 1983. After defending the Cup for 132 years, Dennis Connor, skippering Liberty, went down to Australia 11 with John Bertrand at the helm. The US had the habit of using the courts as well as the water to defend the Cup, making it seem almost impossible to life the "Old Mug." The win was a huge moment in sport. Anyone got another sporting moment in time?
There has been too many to mention. But for me, I'd go for Scotland's Stephen McmAnus' 97th minute winner vs Liechtenstein at Hampden to win a clash between two international heavyweights which reverberated around the globe.
The greatest sporting upset in living memory occurred last month. A plucky team from the 4th division in Scotland met the team sitting at the top of the top division in the League Cup. Unbelievably, the team from the bottom league trounced the supposedly best team in the country.
Felipe Massa taking the chequered flag in the final race of the 2008 F1 season thinking he had won the WDC only to find out moments later Lewis Hamilton had won it because Timo Glock's car broke down on the final corner. It was a fix, I tells ya.
Helicopter Sunday was pretty good. That was the night I had my "farewell shag" with the ex-missus after having been seperated for just over a year. Great day that was.
It never broke down, he was on slick tyres (or intermediates can't rememeber) and it had just started pishing down and he could harldy keep it on the track, McLaren new Hamilton was going to catch him. I wanted Massa to win, Hamilton is a ****. He's on £20 million a year next season
Gutted I had no faith that day. Never even went out until after the match. Was working the monday too

As I remember it Timo retired. No bothered about Hamilton one way or the other really. Personality wise he seems to be a bit of an arsehole but he's undoubtedly one of the most talented on the grid at the moment.
Toon beating the Mackems 5-1 on October 31st, 2010. Pure ****ing heaven. What time is it? It's five past Sunderland

Hitchin beating Hereford 4-2 after extra time in the first round of the FA Cup... Someone had let off a flare and the pitch was full of purple smoke. A Hitchin player emerged from the gloom dribbled up to the Hereford goal and slotted it past the 'keeper for the fourth. The referee gave the goal. The Hereford team surrounded the ref who then blew for full time with 5 minutes to go.
