I'm sure that, like me, you watched Andy win Wimbledon today and claim his place amongst the greatest sportsmen or sportswomen to have originated in the British Isles*. So let's put it to the vote, who is the greatest British sportsperson of all time? There are too many choices to make a poll on Mike's crappy site so nominate your top three and then we'll collate the results. My top three are: Sebastien Coe David Gower Frank Bruno *minus the pikey bit
I'd go for Bobby Charlton. Not due to bias at all But he won the World Cup (which is as likely today as a Brit winning Wimbledon before Sir Andy came along), England's number one goalscorer plus European Cup and European Footballer of the Year winner, all after surviving Munich.
Did anyone notice if John Terry got himself tracksuited up and posed along with Andy Murray on the centre court yesterday?
