Congrats to Wilbs - I admit I wouldn't have played him. And a special mention for Redprintt's mate - good save steadied the nerves. Well done City.
Good performance all round, I must admit when I saw Wilbs lead the team out, I was surprised- That was all forgotten 11 minutes later- I said 20 mins before the end that Cotts might have to be careful with subs, the only one I might have brought off at that point was Bennett, mostly as his contribution faded, guess due to lack of match time. Risk was putting Litlle on who is still not probably 100% yet. Bryan for Williams was sensible. Freeman probably didn't deserve to go off but Reid was an adequate and an alternative replacement- Think he got the subs right though would have taken Bennett off earlier. There was no need for Cox at that stage and no way the front 2 were needing to come off- A much deserved win, The table looks much better and we showed tonight that we can compete in this division. Forest though I thought were not a strong side but we were more that their equal and that gave me much renewed confidence
none of us would make a City manager, poor old Wilbs got a lot of stick but he was our hero! Didn't Cotts say last season.. he's got at least another good season in him or something similar and made him capitain
funny how we all see games/players differently isn't it? I thought Wilbs took his goals superbly, but should of defo scored the hatrick chance. But apart from his goals thought he was poor tbh.He didn't really win a tackle/header and didn't really fight in 50/50's.
That's pretty much the way I saw it as well, he played well the first half but the second you could see he was blowing out his arse.
I was worried we were going to do an mk Dons after half time but we stepped it up at 65 minutes again. Would have put cox on to give him a runout tbh but a win is a win
