Not many stand out performers for me so far. Robben has been brilliant so far and outshone everyone else
I'm going on what several reports said would be the ultimate contest between the world's greats of Ronaldo, Neymar and Messi (and some said Suarez). You can throw in more if you like (Robben deserves to be there), but my point is that even a third-fit Luis is the best of the afore-mentioned four so far. Best by a margin too. edit: If you insist: Xavi 5 Iniesta 6
Also, Pirlo 8? Didn't think he was that great tbh...I think over the years he's built up this reputation whereby even simple things, which other players do, are suddenly world class because he does them. He was just good against England, nothing special. There was a glorious pass the other day from some random player which the commentator said was 'nice'. If Pirlo had done it, it would have been pass of the tournament.
Just as well you called me "sir", the customer is always right. Just put the spit in the tea, I'll drink it later.
Cheese sir? Billys special cheese...vintage stuff Back on topic....Liverpool 2...United 1 Stevie getting in some praccy for the champs league... #topassist
Know what your saying re. players being over-hyped for ordinary things, but have to disagree on Pirlo. I thought he was superb v England, quality of passing and always in space.
Pirlo is so freaking good. When he is in possession the game seems to go slow motion. He makes it look so effortless when he is playing if you contrast it to England's midfielders who huffed and pulled at pace to achieve far less.
Well here is the thing.... The context of pirlo is he only played one game! If that game was an 8 fine, if 7 fine He cut England up due to sitting between the lines with zero pressure on him Tonight Costa Rica could mark him out of it
He plays where the space is, he's an intelligent footballer. Also, sticking a man on him will free someone else up, I doubt Costa Rica will have an effective pressing game. 2 or 3 0 Italy I think. England will then draw with Costa Rica.
