Hi all - I'm doing my first ever Great north Run this week and trying to raise funds for Diabetes UK - I say trying - but no-one is donating so thought I'd post on here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/marcusblack75 Give what you can - if you can;t give anything then no problem - just give me a good luck message - even if you don't like me!!
My mate is pacing me a 1:59 (he's a regular club runner and good at stuff like that) so hopefully will do that - To be honest if I finish any time under 2 hrs 10 minutes I'll be happy - I'm ready for it but I've never run that distance anywhere but around Durham so no idea what to expect. Looking forward to it though
Good luck to you - my daughter and friend are doing it,they've raised over £800 so far for treatment for a lad down here in N.Yorks, so again - best of and we'll be there cheering you all on.
The time is not as important as the cause and reason you did it. Congrats mate, you should be proud of yourself.
Excellent effort and a huge congrats on completing it. A mate of mine, who is a marathon runner, told me that if you want to aim for a decent time then don't do London (marathon ) or the Great North Run (half marathon ), due to the masses. Have you plans do to others Marcus?
Yeah absolutely mate. Loved that today. Will have to do a marathon now as my mate offered a good whack for charity if I promised to do one with him
