http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/7287236/Livermore-stay-cost-Spurs Report says that 'Arry chose to pay an "inflated" fee for Parker rather than paying a smaller amount + Livermore on loan. All I can say is that's been a great decision for a couple of reasons. 1. Parker has been worth whatever we paid and more since signing. 2. Livermore has proved he's more than capable filling in when needed and has become an important squad member over the past couple of months. Had we loaned him at the time, we'd have been f*cked for some of the games this season.
Livermore's far too good for West Ham. He may struggle to get game time if we somehow manage to get everyone fit, though. This being Spurs, I can't see it ever happening, so he should get plenty.
Yeah definitely PNP, I don't think Spurs and fully fit squad has ever been mentioned in the same sentence! Think he can learn a lot while training/ playing with Parker and Sandro, if he can learn from them then he could prove to be a very good player in the future.
Apart from the sentence "Why don't Spurs ever have a fully fit squad" I use that sentence every season
Yep, am very glad we kept Livermore, he's already had stacks of game time this season, probably more than players like Ade and VDv. He'll surely play tomorrow too, an important member of our squad.
My mates boy used to play in the same team as Livermore and still keeps in contact and he said Livermore refused to go to WHU. He opted to stay at the lane and fight for his place.
West Ham were running their mouths about a £10m fee for Parker at the start of the summer. Spurs signed him for £5m. So not only did we make a tidy saving, we also got to watch Livermore develop into a tidy player when he gets his opportunities. They got Bentley, who promptly knackered his knee. Again.
I like Livermore, local lad, loves Spurs, so I hope he stays, if he continues it won't surprise me to see a bid from someone.
