Recently stumbled across this gem which had been shared on the King's Lynn forum:

I have to admit, I laughed out loud a few times reading this, my favourite has to be "STAND HIM", use it all the time!

    A fantastic read!

I <laugh> my head off more than once! So true and these phrases are used every week on the parks pitches. The one that is missing is "Get em Out!" when the defenders have successfully dealt with a corner and cleared it up the pitch. This is used to instruct the defending team to all run up the pitch as quickly as possible!

I suppose the other phrase often used is "Watch the bounce!" or more preferable "Don't let it ****ing bounce!"

    Great read CS! <ok>

    Great read...
One of my team mates has an annoying habit of shouting "watch your hole" at tense moments in the game... I'm relatively new to the side and frankly way out of my depth in terms of ability so not plucked up the courage yet to question him on what the hell he means... Appreciate any advice. Pretty sure he's not talking about my actual arse.

Quality read and so well written <ok>

    9. "Time!"
The ball drops from the air and a player finds himself in acres of space. Pointing this out to him might seem a good idea. It'll calm him down, allow him to get his head up and play a pass, rather than treat the ball like an unpinned grenade.

I normally played wide right, up front (very attacking team we were <laugh>) but occasionally we would play a 4-4-2 and I would drop in to central midfield. As a decent passer of the ball (honest I was guv) I would love to chip or lob a ball over the defenders when they tried to push us back to the half way line. All the team knew what was likely to happen when I got the ball in these circumstances - all but the twat who should have been running towards a gap in the back line and beyond.

So many times I would say - Run you lazy ****, run!
Not a classic line but it sometimes worked <laugh>
