Hello new to this forum, just wanted to post this article about our fans' influence on the Blackburn game http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...n-road-A-big-deal-Rovers-Leeds-rich-fans.html No matter what happens with the takeover, at least we can still say we have some of the most passionate fans in English football, even with thousands boycotting games MOT
Welcome to the Leeds board fella. Its a fine line really. The Leeds fans want to support their team, but at the same time want Bates out. Its a fine line. Its good to see ER starting to become a fortress again, but a long way off where it needs to be
Welcome, Carter. A good article indeed. It was early Sunday afternoon before my voice started coming back, and I think there would have been quite a few with the same problem. Great atmospher, considering there were only 24,000 there. One thing, and perhaps it's just a bit too early in the morning for me - wtf was that final 'eggs on their faces' section about? I don't get the point they were trying to make. Can someone put me right?
For me the two most salient parts were: The crowd will cheer on the players if the crowd feels their energy and commitment, regardless of score. This may need to be quoted again for those who ask why Leeds fans challenge the current ownership about prices etc., but would not do the same at Tescos, Sainsburys, etc.
As stated above the egg anaology is due to the Venkys' chicken businesses but it was comparing the big, young signing and his lack of goals with the older players who were more visible and did score.
