There are games where the players don't turn up, there are games where the opposition are just too good, then there are the games where three points are there for the taking and a good manager will get them. All too often we end up drawing or losing games, that are there for the taking, because of Grayson's poor management. At 2-0 up we should have gone on to beat Brighton. But Simon Grayson settled at 2-0. Despite having goals in us and a really poor defence, he wasn't interested in scoring any more goals and attempted to contain Brighton. Despite what was being said on Sky about the tactics being spot on, I knew that there was no way we could continue to invite Brighton onto us and expect to win the game. Grayson then decided to take Danny Pugh off late on, which took away the protection from the left and led to Brighton's third goal. The Preston game was similar. Instead of letting us continue to outscore Preston, he tried to get us to sit back and we finished up with one of the most embarrassing defeats in our history. To try to play a defensive game with good attackers and poor defenders is idiotic. I honestly believe he's the worst manager I've ever known in twenty years of following football.
Comical that I keep reading bad tactics sitting on the lead, we never sat on anything. Brighton did not turn up in the first 45 minutes, we played exactly the same second half, if Brighton had we would have won 4-0 Unfortunate for us the real Brighton came out in the second half and it showed.
we need good defenders---but smurfy thinks not ---and larry still wipes his arse-----the gutless coward
We did sit on the lead and the possibility of Brighton improving in the second half was exactly why it was bad tactics.
Don't surprise surprise agree he sent on Becchio and Forsell to get a goal its the defence that needs sorting by the way the Wally with the Brollies team who you rate team were dire today if the play like this they will be lucky toavoid relegation
100% agreed, we were very lucky Brighton didn't turn up the first half, or else we would have been thumped.
