Hi I was watching sky news or bbc news a few days ago when the topic of grass roots football came up and it got me thinking about the vast amounts of cash at the top and how football at the bottom has a hard time even getting somewhere to play as well as facilities and equipment etc. I know that the premier league is very reluctant to dip its hands in and spoil their hands and get money out of their fat wallets. Anyhow I came up with an idea this morning that could be done at all levels. From the players in the premier league and further down a few divisions if it was done on a basis where each player put aside a small amount of cash and sponsored or adopted a team, It could be their local under 11s or an team further afield, something like that I think would help to bridge that funding gap and would give them at least money for the basics as I mentioned above. It would also help to bring the game back to the fans as well something that I think has been sorely missing in the last 15 or 20 years. Its just an idea but one I think would work.
