Not long after Boro bought Leadbitter, they played us at the SoL. If I remember right, that was a cup match, we were in the premier league and they were in the championship. Grant was made captain for the day and he jogged around the middle of the park dictating the game, which they won. I was at the Riverside today and he did exactly the same. Always in the right place, always available for a pass and always giving a good ball. In the whole match, I only saw him give the ball away once. We could have had him back in the summer, when it appeared that Gary Monk didn't want him. If he were available, I would love us to welcome him back to the club he loves. He's still far better than anything that we have in midfield.

I'll never forget him running across to kiss the pitch where his father's ashes were scattered, after he scored against Arsenal. Sunderland through and through.

He is exactly the kind of midfielder we need rather than 5000 injured DMs we have at the moment. We've been playing 2 dms in the middle of the park since Gus and we've been completely guff. Please Coleman bring us an aggressive midfielder who doesn't get nose bleed in the final 3rd and put a stop to our cm rut.

He’s got the fighter attitude which Coleman is looking for.

I’d have him back but reckon he’s the kind Pulis would rate.

The goalie on my son's team, his dad is from Spain, apparently he had a pretty good go at football in his youth - semi pro or something like that. Now he's one of the best trainer's around; his mantra, "Good players, they don't lose the ball."
