It would have been easy for him to put the boot into the Swans fans in the midst of the alleged racist gesture storm but in fairness to him he had nothing but nice things to say about the Swans fans and football club.

I had respect for him last season when he spoke out about the likes of Nathen Dyer and DG not getting any kind of England recognition but after reading that i have to say he sounds like a fair minded bloke. He has haunted us for years but i guess we have to respect the fact he owns our defence when he plays against us,whats your thoughts on the link below ??

A limited player but he's good at what he does , he bullied and harried us at the back on Saturday and for a big bloke he's got a fair turn of speed .He fits in Norwich's team perfectly and thats not meant to come across as being disrespectful and I can see why they were desperate not to lose him in the close season.I don't think he's been as prolific as a goal scorer this season but he certainly is a F*****g nuisance <wah>

He sure has Ash'es number !!..<laugh>

Reading the article i was impressed by the fact he could have made a big thing about what happened and been alot more scornful of the swans fans but he was totally the opposite, saying how fantastic the club is and how fantastic the fans are was something he didnt need to say considering the amount of stick we give him!! its obvious to us all he enjoys the banter and its quite refreshing to see opposition players talking about this kind of thing in a positive way, i guess that impressed me <ok>

He could certainly do a job for us - we need a pie taster on match day.

He would be a much better player if he lost a bit of weight, still he does the job for norwich and that's what counts...

Here one for you Dragon lol!

    grany holt.jpg

Holt has been immense for us and as Norway says , enjoys playing against Ashley Williams who is about as good a Mertasaker when up against Holt. If Laudrup plays Ash against us at CR, we will score. For me your defence is the area to improve as you seem to identify, as offensively you look good. Rumours Danny Graham is possibly coming this way which we are not sure about!

Not the most cultured Holty but our talisman.

Here's to another belter later in the season

Out of interest, and this is not meaning to start an argument at all (!) why do you think he's limited?

Apart from his terrible acting (my favourite is when he clearly barges a defender and then tries to look as innocent as possible, before the ref gives a foul anyway) and his equally bad tackling, I'd say he's pretty good all round. Weight can be an issue, though he's not as fat as he looks (!), but as mentioned below he's got a decent turn of pace when minded, regularly wins headers despite being shorter than most centre-halves, does fantastic flick-ons/assists and puts a massive shift in every game on his Todd (which shows his positioning is excellent and he can pull defences all over the place). To top it all, he's a fantastic leader. Shy of being Rooney (and then some) I'm not sure what else he could bring. You could accuse him of not being able to shoot from range I suppose, but if you are concerned for his skill in the area, take a look at his goal against Man U or Everton last year.

Honestly, without him we would have finished bottom of the table last season. He's worth fifteen or more points.

I agree that Williams didn't have a great game, but I think he's a decent player, so don't be too harsh on him. Also, Hangeland is the only defender that has consistently had Holt in his pocket in the prem. "Legends" such as Ferdinand and Terry suffered just as badly as Williams.

Holt has proven everyone wrong at every level and will continue to do so.

He's a legend, a champion, he scored a hattrick against Ipswich, he's a talisman and I would follow him to the gates of hell if thats what he wanted.

He's the hero every club wishes they had, and why would he hate Swansea, he loves you guys lol.

I dont think he is a bad player and he will have no worries of our Danny taking his place if he joins you but if he was to lose a stone then he would be even better than what he already is....He is a natural goal scorer something danny cant do in the premiership with the countless chances he has had...

Must say although he pi$$ed us off last year with his comments about Wales - I must say his banter on Saturday was top draw - I sit front row in West stand - and he was right by the touch line - and many around me were chanting about him being fat and overweight - and to be fair to him - he simply put his hand on his hips, and pretended to be struggling for breath - went down a treat with the swans fans, who all highlighted it was good banter :D......gone up in my opinions of him

Living near Norwich means I have gone to quite a few games over the years and they are my second team (becoming more complicated now we are both in the same league)...and seeing him play live as a Norwich fan is great fun. He's a very decent player, but it's the way he winds up the opposition players and fans that is just soo funny to watch! He's always a handful and knows exactly how to win a freekick.

When he's playing for Norwich I love watching the cheeky beggar, when he's against us I hate it.

Forget ability I wish Danny Graham would play with the same commitment as Holt.

For a relatively big man he's a bit of a fairy isn't he, physical CB's rough him up with ease + I can't remember him bleeding since joining the club.

The FA were right, neither are good enough for England's national team let's be honest.
