Granero not targeting QPR exit By James McManus 28 Feb 2013 18:47:00 The 25-year-old playmaker has endured a difficult first season in England since moving to the club in the summer from Real Madrid but insists that he is not thinking about leaving QPR midfielder Esteban Granero is adamant that he has no interest in looking for another club and is simply focused on trying to help the side avoid relegation this season. Harry Redknapp's team remain rooted to the bottom of the league table, seven points adrift of safety and with only 11 games remaining to try to beat the drop, with speculation surrounding the futures of several members of the squad should they go down. But Granero argued to the club's official website: "I am not the type of player who wants to play for many teams and move every transfer window. "I like to get involved with the club, with the team, with everything. I have only played for two teams [before QPR] in my career; one is the team of my life, Real Madrid, and one is Getafe, who I was with on loan. "I am not thinking about the future. In the summer I signed a four-year contract because I wanted to spend four years here and I still want to spend four years here. "I do not want to be changing teams all the time. I am happy at QPR. This is a good club for me. I feel now this club forms part of me and I am just thinking about playing these games and trying to get out of the relegation zone. "Then we can face a new season with new opportunities and try to start better from the beginning to make sure it is a better season." With Saturday's trip away to fellow strugglers Southampton earmarked as an opportunity to pick up some much-needed points, Granero admits that, even though he has settled in well at the club, he will regard this season as a failure if they are relegated. He added: "Apart from the results, everything is perfect! But when you are bottom of the league it is hard to relax and be happy because you are suffering for the club, for the supporters, and for yourself. "We still have the chance to get out of this situation and if we manage this, I will remember this as a great season. We have some very difficult games ahead and this is a big challenge for us. We have to be ready for it."
Granero should shut his pie hole and concentrate on practising free kicks. He might not have a choice when it comes to staying or going. Score the winner at Southampton then we might listen.
C'mon COL, surely you can take the blinkers off for two minutes. Taatabt's free kicks are a joke and have been for the last two years. The only saving grace is that they're not as bad as his corners. And Pirata, you're just as deluded as COL when it comes to your golden boy. He's absolute tripe mate and you're in denial considering his performances this season.
It's hard to get to you mate ain't it? I don't think Granero is playing good football and I agree he had a very poor season but I just had to reply to Col's "Or, better still, practice staying the **** away from them!" comment when I know he'd rather have Adel taking them even if he's worse than Granero
Fair enough Pirata. They've both been sh*t as have practically the entire squad, hence 2 wins in 27 matches! Its so depressing its enough to make a grown man cry!
2 wins granted but Adel's goals will be still be considered some the best in the league this year. Get behind the team you donkey x
Wow, Taarabt scored a good goal a few months ago. Pity he puts the other 99% of his shots into the stands. I'm trying so hard to keep a lid on it RE that player but some of you make it so freakin' difficult!!
Granero played good till the west ham game now he just plays pony cant actually believe he played 28 games for them last season and more the two previous seasons before that and also his set pieces are AWFUL
Its actually quite staggering isn't it Ollie? How could a good player become so sh*te almost overnight? Must be just another case of QP-itis.
Him and Park should be both made to leave just both have not lived up to expectations and have had abysmal performances.
If you use that logic mate, the team would consist of Ceasar, Hill, Derry and Townsend. The rest have not lived up to thier billing....NONE of them...as for Tarbs free kicks....worst in the team..give Derry a go. I'm sure he know how to cross a ball. Tarbs & Granero couldnt cross a road IMHO!
