No surprise that they tired towards the end on the basis they had really put in a shift and have had little game time, but I thought they were both class acts. Composed on the ball, never rushed into a pass and rarely gave the ball away.

Never thought I'd say it, but Diakite will struggle to get in the starting 11 when he's back, but it does show we have much more quality in depth now.

    Joey who?

Diakite leave us with the option of playing 1 up front, imaging Diakite and Faurlin in the middle with Granero in front of them.

Likely to be the central midfield trio next week away at Spurs. Hope Diakite is fully up for it...

If Diakite is back to his best he could walk straight back in the team and join them as he is a different type of player
Would there be room for Park as well though or would he move out wider

i had my doubts about park.... But after yesterdays performance and how hard he works is just unreal. He must of covered every bit of grass on the pitch. For me he has to start but would plat him in a wide role.

We'll probably have Zamora on his own up front so Park would be out on the right and probably SWP on the left. If M'Bia is fit he may be in the reckoning, ohhh, decisions, decisions...

Spurs are a team we're capable of getting at with a bit more quality. If Johnson isn't fit I'd like to see Mackie in for Wright-Phillips and Hoilett playing off Zamora.

Good shout, would be a great midfield central 3 away from home.

It does all confirm the almost ludicrous strength of our midfield. Chelsea hardly got a kick in the middle third in the 2nd half. If only we had these kind of options front and back.

Park has always been a wide player but only played central because of lack of other options, we have those other options so he should now play RW. Just as long as we dont play SWP.

I think Spurs are there for the taking but I wouldnt play Taarabt after his last WHL performance so would start hoilett on the left in a 4231.

Two brilliant ball-playing centre midfielders. At times yesterday both were a joy to watch.

Spanish speaking midfield, Portuguese speaking keeper and chunk of defense, French and English speakers scattered throughout, only Park hasn't got a first language pal.

plus Ferdinand - that's why you need squad depth to cover off these situations and some top class players (like at Man City) have to be prepared to not sulk and patiently sit on the bench awaiting their turn.

Great that Jamie Mackie can also slot in at RB when necessary (as I recall him doing a few times in the Championship).

the midfield is the engine room of any team and ours being serious is easily a top 8 unit, the strikers will come to life now as i think Cisse will be on fire again.Granero is a multi function player but having watched some videos of him at madrid sitting in the hole is by far his best position.

These two were very good yesterday day and playing Diakite with thee could be brilliant but with our present Squad, I'm not sure it's viable. Neither of those three are liable to get in the box and support the Striker which is not a problem if there are others will but it's not something Park or Adel normally does, not sure about Jnr either so who ? Jamie on the right and Park left, doesn't fit for me.

MH picked the right staring Line up for this game but how is is going to squeeze Adel or Jnr into the Team at the moment which he'll need to against teams He want 3 pts for ? Real head scratcher for me at the moment and just can't see him doing it when playing 3 Central midfielders.
