A funny little tale, a little story that happened at the weekend.. We had a belated housewarming party at my daughters where they had recently moved to a new house, my grandsons, all 4 asked me to do a ' Grandads Music Show', I said my pleasure as long as it's entirely my choice of music, all agreed. I took along my 'ruark audio CD player and vinyl record player', CD's,Vinyls and set up, I played nothing but 'Del Shannon,Bobby Vee, Everly Bros,Eddie Cochran,Buddy Holly,Elvis,Jeff Lynne and Hits of 65' all night, they had a great night and bloody loved every minute of it, wanted more but I was knackered and had to leave for home. They have booked me up for another session later in the year, want the same type music saying they preferred it to the modern era, of course I agreed.
Strangely enough there’s a music thread over on the Cardiff board; ‘Aber’s Music Thread’, which I post in occasionally. There’s some good stuff in there - whilst their taste in football might be a bit, er, ‘questionable’ (but understandable considering where they are from), their taste in music is pretty much spot on. I posted on there yesterday about 10cc’s ‘I’m Mandy Fly Me’ which generated several comments about today’s music being crap…. https://not606.com/threads/abers-music-thread-x3.123728/page-238
If you haven’t seen it, and you like 10cc I would urge you to watch 10cc in concert from a few years ago It’s only Graham Goldman left from the original line up, although Kevin Godley makes a guest appearance, but it is a sheer joy to watch and listen to. Highly recommended There is also a 10cc documentary called I’m Not In Love the 10cc story which I was lucky enough to see a while ago and which is also brilliant
