https://the-race.com/formula-1/new-wall-to-deter-corner-cutting-at-canadian-gp-venue-montreal/ New T1 wall is interesting, could see it causing difficulties if someone tries to rejoin into the middle of T2.
Another thread where I’m gonna have to moan about red flags and time ticking away in FP1 for coverage we are forced to pay for. Unbelievable.
Some very curious FP2 sectors and speed traps. Aston Martin and Merc both very competitive in S1 and 2 but losing the best part of half a second down the back straight, clocking 316km/h compared to 329 of Max. If it’s engine modes then it bodes well for them but if not, worrying in terms of drag? Rain due shortly
Is it me or are we seeing bigger porpoising this weekend? Are upgrades adding downforce thus causing the bumpy ride?
Sainz should be kicked out of qualifying for that stupid blocking on the corner as Gasly is coming through at high speed to complete a lap.
And then again in Q2, wtf is going on at Ferrari. Someone at Williams deserves a pat on the back for that call on the tyres.
calamity of risk averse drivers and teams. hamilton is very lucky here. red bull and ferrari have totally fcuked it as well. le clerc 11th. perez 12th. sainz a show in for a big penalty. those who got on slicks the second they saw the chance benefitted. full wets for q3 now.
Hulk has been handed a three-place grid penalty and one penalty point for failing to stay above the minimum speed limit under a red flag. Stewards are spoiling F1 with all these stupid rules. Now starts P5 behind the Mercs. So Lewis & George move up to P3 & P4.
I believe it was for exceeding the speed limit under red, right? Things like that I can totally understand, and while it sucks, safety rules should always be king.
