Yes I know it's off topic but thought it would get lost on Beefy's thread. Thought for a bit of fun we could all post any National fancies here. Nice that our game will be over and done with in plenty of time to watch the big race.

I've gone for Always Waining and Treacle.

Sorry but I really don't care for horse racing even if it is the grand national. So boring.

    I've gone for:-

    Chicago Grey @ 12/1

    Roberto Goldback @ 33/1

The National is a total lottery though really, but I enjoy watching it, it's a real spectacle.

I've gone for E/W bets on Roberto Goldbeck, Forpadydeplasterer and Balthazar King. Haven't won one outright or each way since Papillon in 2000 so avoid my 3 picks!

The grand national is so unnecessary. Lets kill several horses so people can bet on them, yay!

As far I'm concerned a worldwide ban of horse racing could start immediately. However, I realise that the horse would almost disappear from the western world, if that happened, so I would be contented to have a worldwide ban over jumps.

I have been to horse meetings on the flat where horses have broken thier front leg and have had to be put down. To say it is cruel is just plain daft, footballers break thier legs so should we ban football as well or call it cruel. The fact remains that very few horses that sustain a broken leg will not be put down as you can not confine them to bed for 4 months and they tend to struggle with the crutches. No one cares for horses more than trainers and the owners and these kind of incidents are very rare and totally unavoidable.

It is atotal lottery, but a good guide is go for a low weight, a horse that has finished in its last 3 races and preferably has experience at the course. So mine are cappa bleu 16-1 and rare bob at 40-1

Balthazar King, Cappa Bleu and Chicago Grey for a bit of interest.

Really is a terrible race though

All the lunatics come out during the grand national to condemn a sport they know little about.
