The Swansea City striker is keen on a return to his native north-east this month and has held talks with Sunderland. The Black Cats and Norwich City have both tabled £4 million bids for the centre-forward, who is valued at £5m by Swansea. But Goal.com has learned that Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has also registered his interest in Graham and is ready to make a formal offer this week. Pardew is keen to bolster his strikeforce after losing Demba Ba to Chelsea earlier this month and missing out on the signing of Loic Remy, who spurned a move to Newcastle to join QPR. Sunderland remain the frontrunners for Graham’s signature but he is believed to be biding his time while he waits for Newcastle’s interest to materialise. Martin O’Neill has targeted the striker to take some of the goalscoring pressure off Steven Fletcher at the Stadium of Light. Graham has been pushed down the Swans’ pecking order following the arrival of Michu last summer, who has made a huge impact at the club. Although the former Watford forward has scored four goals in his last seven games, he is understood to have a poor relationship with Michael Laudrup and wants to leave the club. Swansea have targeted Kenwyne Jones of Stoke City as a replacement for Graham. It is starting to look like a battle between Sunderland and Newcastle for Danny Graham, with a string of bets prompting the Magpies to be cut from 10/1 to 2/1 to secure the Swansea striker's services. The Black Cats are still favourites at 4/6 with Norwich drifting out to 4/1. by @SkyTimClement 10:23 AM I hope they get him
I thinkbtge Campbell to Cardiff news might mean we see someone coming in shortly. Might be Graham but someone I would think
Very interesting. If this is the case and he still comes to us, I think he will do so on a far different setting to the way he would do right now. I rate the lads ability but don't want a barcode piss taker. I If he still chose us then I'd say if was definately no Clark or Chopra. However, if he does chose them though, then my current suspicions will be proved correct. Clears everything up perfectly imo.
Agree 100% with the points you have made. But deep down i still hope he doesnt choose us. The lad is a good player its just we have been ****ed over in the past by mag players.
Goal com isnt the most reliable. Don't want him and if Newcastle get him I will be pleased. Unfortunately I expect us to get him.

I think the lad is a decent player and his goals per game is up there with fletcher. I do think they would be a decent partnerships and It's not his ability I question. It's his commitment to our club I question. If if chooses us in a 2 horse race then I will fully accept him 100%. If if chooses his boyhood club then I don't blame him but I will be satisfied that he would have been a disaster waiting to happen. Either outcome is a positive result in my opinion.
really not arsed if he comes or not, average player at best, I certainly wouldn't drop any of our players to accomodate him
What I like about him 's he 's team player and grafts his nads off which will take some pressure off fletcher. He also has a strike rate similar to fletcher too. 5m would be a good price
Depends who the bettings with. A mere £50 -£75 changes odds considerably in footy transfers. If its Skybet probably b*llocks, if its Billy Hill, Ladbrokes etc then there probably is summit in it. If he comes I will give him 100% support but if he doesn't I cannot see myself losing any sleep over it.
Or we offer him more money and he is a money grabbing bar steward like Bent and would rather have money than loyalty. Seriously though If you had the choice to play for us or the mags what would you do?? If the barcodes have made a offer he will be in black and white by the 1st Feb.
I seldom disagree with anything you say cest but we differ on graham. For one, if graham genuinely receives an offer from newcastle he wont even consider SAFC for one moment. I respect your attempt to tow the 'marty line' by trying to rationalise this potential recruit as a positive step forward but I suspect that deep down you have the same severe reservations as myself and as a result, are merely trying to convince yourself that it may work out, which it may, but I doubt it. The difference between graham, clark and choprat is the fact that graham has already been caught out in print PRIOR to coming to SAFC. He has already showed his hand and it is clear to me that he is an accident waiting to happen. All this bollox about professionalism is quite simply, bollox. You cannot change your emotional attachments by being 'professional' and for a player who has said he would support ANYBODY but SAFC if newcastle failed to exist to be considered as a recruit for SAFC is IMO an extremely poor selection. If MON brought graham in the players would give him loads of banter about being a mag to help him 'settle in'. However, what if graham begins to screw up, what if he picks up an injury and the fans start to get on his back? What if some of the abuse the fans start to dish out becomes as strongly worded as the last days of bruce? How will that affect graham and even more importantly, how will it affect the other squad members when they see one of their team mates being hounded to hell? Could the fans treatment of graham affect other squad members to the extent where they lose their desire to play their hearts out for a club that is followed by a section of fans that are prepaired to hound the hell out of graham? A 10% drop in performance is a relegation battle in the making. All of this is hypothetical ofcourse, but it is also a very real possibility, a possibility that quite simply can be avoided by looking elsewhere for another striker....
he seems to want to come here, also the way hes talking he will choose safc over the mags, think it will be good for us either way.
