GT's intriguing comments about a player down south who had a brilliant match last night and now looks as if he will not be coming to us lead me into some research. The most likely candidate seems to be Gozier Ugwu of Reading who had two goals and one assist for their U21 side last night. Looks to have been a long term target for us and has had previous loan spells at Ebbsfleet and Yeovil. Is a young player in a Championship side who has had very little (if any) first team experience for them really too good for us?

Mentioned this on the Finances thread earlier. Could also have been Lee of West Ham, though.

GHMM - do you post on B&A? If so who are you?

It sounds likely that it is the fella mentioned.

    Matster,
No - I don't post on B and A but I do look at it regularly. Seems to me it is more likely Ugwu than Lee as we have had a loan player from Reading recently.

No-one's too good for the Shrews. Surely any player who wants game time, for any one of a thousand reasons, without committment would/could/should be willing to try anywhere. Win-win situations must then exist for both parties.
Think Market Drayton....wouldn't Pascal Chimbonda have had a better time with us....it's still close to his home, a better class of game and the mutual benefit would have been enormous.
Maybe we just don't have the correct aura.
