Just been for a meal Bloody rubbish Indian Tasty as you would expect good nanns and rice However there was very little meat prawns etc The fact that there get subsidised from the government to £10 per person We actually had one or two pieces of the actual dish in a plate of onions I did complain to no avail
Down to the restaurant that mate I have absolutely battered this deal (I eat out 4-5 days a week anyway so no brainier) and I’ve not seen a drop I quality anywhere. You’re right to complain, they are receiving full price after all, and we all know they’ll be fiddling there books to max it on top.
Yeah mate there will surely fiddle the books I don’t eat out regularly but do occasionally Last week I had a good steak on this deal for £10; However as good as it was it was only pub grub and not worth £20 two weeks ago before the discount I paid £14 for a much better steak in a similar pub
Aye pub food is generally just ‘ok’, I’ve dived in Spoons a few times innit, £5.49 for a mixed grill is decent, even if it’s just ‘ok’ standard.
The South Causey inn used to do a good quality mixed grill. Bit pricier than most places but worth it. Canny beer garden for a gargle as well. Havent been able to book one of these Mon- Wed deals with them yet which tells a story in itself.
I’m a big fan of a mixed grill. When I lived in Spain I used to live on them out of the Argentinian steakhouses. Spoons ones aren’t so much a mixed grill as a ‘plate of meat’ but for £5.49, who cares? Ha.
I've never dined in a Spoons pub, their sticky and grubby fingered menus put me off eating there lol. Some of their world beer selections and prices are pretty fair though. I'ts mad that I haven't been into a pub/restaurant since the beginning of the lockdown which is all rather strange considering I was regularly gigging in them up until the pandemic got here.
Don’t get me wrong mate the scran is bang average at best, but it’s reflected in the cost. There’s a spoons opposite me literally 4 metres away so I eat there out of convenience a couple times a week. I never feel short changed for what it costs. I eat out at far better places far more often, but then of course it’s 4X the cost as well.
Aye it is, but I do hate living in the city centre means not having a proper local. I mean there’s about 80 bars/restaurants within a 10 min walk of course so from a positive aspect I could say that ha.
Depends on the venue mate, but a lot of places it’s semi-permanent. Your busy places up town are fully booked weeks out, Stack up town is fully booked for next 2 weekends Fri-Sun already, crazy. I’m fortunate that I know folk and can swing by some places, but walk up to a popular place and it’s 45mins minimum realistically.
For someone who eats out as much as you do-that must be a pain in the arse! Not sure I could be arsed with all that bother Wondering about what students Freshers Week will be like next month!? Pandemonium I'd wager going by what's happening now
Aye it will be absolute hell on that mate, it’s not so bad for eating out, you can book a half decent place like Unos or Babucho on the day Mon-Thurs, but again they are getting busier as it goes on. The student influx of course adds 10% to the population and will cause mayhem.
Only been out for food twice The Indians last night very poor substandard My steak at the blue bell Stanley over two weeks ago Was overpriced they used the opportunity to up the price cause of the government subsidy I’m on holiday from 25th And I know I will get some excellent meals in Stalis Been there soooooo many times
South Causey Inn food used to be better when it was just a pub. Since they've expanded, themed accommodation, wedding rooms, the red London bus, fire engine etc., the food quality took a back step. Havnt been for a year like, so it might have improved since.
