    I'm glad we got shut of Carroll but it looks like we're not in for anyone - Even Dempsey has just pulled into ****ing Tottenham!

    No, West Ham agreed to pick up his entire wage hence why Liverpool felt WH were a better option the the Geordies

    Yeah around 6million apparently but I am sure after what happened they would hav been asking us for 10m minimum

    They'd have sold to anyone but us. I think they gave us grief when we got Hodgson and Konchesky, which turned out well for us! Wanted us to be busy and Dempsey and Sturridge would've been a good days business. As it is I reckon even with a striker (Sturridge) we are STILL light up front.

    I agree, they would have wanted a limb as well. I find it incredible that Jol can do business with the club that shafted him to spite LFC - Well that is how I see it anyway!

    Martin Jol would have had little to do with the sale of Dempsey at this point. Jol's job is to recruit new talent, not to try and ship out someone who was clearly isolated from the first team squad.

    Why would Fulham sell to a direct rival (goal difference only, or worse performance in last EL) ?

    At least Villa are way behind us and Tottenham are probable CL candidates. Liverpool = same level
