Don't you find it a bit ironic that the team the mackems have nicknamed "the Sunderland B team" have made Europe next season while they fluffed their best shot at it for years haha. In all seriousness though, birmingham and Stoke in the Europa league.............**** me. With any luck, a European adventure might send Stoke and their brand of football back where they belong.....the championship.
Happened with Ipswich back in 01/02, they even beat Inter Milan, yet come the end of the season they got relegated.
Obafemi Martins left the premier league when we got relegated having won nothing more than an intertoto plaque, comes on for 10 minutes in the carling cup final and grabs the winner, and wins a cup in the same team that Bowyer and Stephen ****ing Carr are playing in, we are sort of in the same boat ha!
Not really mate, we've been there and weren't aiming for Europe this season. 17th would of done most.
I can't see refs letting them get away with as much as they do over here though, especially with diving commonplace amongst European teams.
Its the way we won the fairs cup according to my old man, as the opposition couldn't deal with the big boot to Wynn Davies. I think it was him anyways.
