I shall be heading down to the game today. It's currently pissing it down and it's not warm in the slightest

But when I see the city, I just can't get enough, so I can't wait!

It'll be great to see what some of the new lads are capable of and how they gel with our current squad.

Anyone else going? I will give a bit of a report afterwards on what I've noticed.

Vaughany14 tweeted yesterday how 'excited' he was that some serious competitive action had arrived at last. I must say I find his enthusiasm infectious and uplifting.

Look forward to a review of the formation(s) used, and how all the newbies have performed <ok> Enjoy !

Twitter is reporting the starting eleven as ruddy martin barnett whitbread deleat bennett hoolahan johnson surman holt vaughn.

Strong as expected, although I'm sure a lot of changes will be made.

Seems odd to start De Laet at L.B.as his primary role is C.B. ?
But as you say, I imagine Tierney will be on at some stage.

If you include Barnett, who missed 3 months with his hamstring, that's 5 out of 11 starters are newbies. Excellent.

Im expecting good things from vaughany, as you say cromer his emthusiasm is mega and im sure the rest are the same.

The team line up is unsuprising personally, to have a bit of a mix and match in a game like this. But is a very strong line up none the less and when he makes changes it will be just as strong. With de laet is he is verstile and can play across the back in any position.

Its amazing how only 3 seasons ago our sqaud was made up of loans, in and out, in and out! but now we have a strength in depth of permanent players.

Today im going for a 5-0 with 2 players scoring on there debut if you wana call it that lol...

Delaet can allegedly play across the back line so I guess they will test this theory. I want simon lappin to score today lol, but result isn't important. I'm going simply for a jeepers at the team and the fact I'm proper fiending for some football. I HATE PRE-SEASON!

Beef- I would be really interested to hear a scouting report on K Smith and C Martin! I think this coming season could be the making of their careers if they really put the effort in! Equally, if they don't impress in training they could fail to make the matchday squads and drift out of contention altogether...

Feels odd, but I'm following this on twitter (You don't have to register to read NCFC's tweets) and I see we're 5 - 0 up, (Holt x2, K Smith, Whitbred and Jackson) which is very nice, but there's one or two tools saying we're going to now win the league on there! I feel a little embarrassed to read that when we are beating Gorleston...

2nd half team- Ruddy, Barnett, Ward, Crofts, Jackson, Morison, Surman, Wilbraham, JOhnson, Brindley, Bennett, seems like we're only playing 2 defenders? What sort of formation do you think they're playing? Maybe Drury and Lappin have slight injuries and they decided it wasn't worth risking it?

7-0 full time. Holt x2, K Smith, Whitbread, Jackson, Johnson and Wilbraham.

Not a bad run out, a few youth players used. Certainly a better start against non-league opposition than we've had in the past

Defence untroubled, attack in second gear. What impressed me was the general smooth was and sharpness through the centre was still on. We weren't trying hard but Bennett looks good already in my view.

I'll do a more detailed one later but chrissy and motet looked okay, not a lot to say as they went off quite early.

It was shocking weather, but no problemo really. Players went out and gave a good account of themselves so very happy. Lambert protected major players so no major issues bar the penalty. Please don't hack Chris Martin.
