Is anyone putting two and two together and making more than 4??? Van der Sar is retiring at the end of the seaon,and as you all oknow,Sir Alex is a great fan of Craig Gordon.What are your thoughts if Sir Alex offers us Welbeck...but only if we offer him Craig Gordon!My view is that we must keep hold of Craig.What do you think??
Evening Cal - I would not swap like for like. Theonly deal I would listen to would be Welbeck & Evans for Gordon and a couple of million. Problem being is this already turning Gordon's head with pass gossip, come Bruce get him signed on a longer contract.
Need to make Gordon one of the top earners at the club.The Mig is good but I think Gordon is vital for us to progress, Keano's best ever buy!
Id hate to see Gordon leave because top notch keepers are hard to find, just ask Mr Wenger. However I think it is inevitable that Gordon will leave for a "top 4" club at some point and if we could get a player of Welbecks quality and potential then it wouldn't be such a bad bit of business. Id then bring in an experienced gk to fight for the number 1 spot. David James, came close to joining in the summer.
We have to keep flash. I know Welbeck is good but it will cost you a lot more to find a keeper to replace Flash.
Man U will get Gordon if they want him. We need to insist on Wellbeck, Evans and enough cash for Given.
