Now that you cannot watch Sky on Chrome, which is the best browser to use?
I am using a normal laptop not an I pad or owt fancy. I have got IE but that doesn't work well either.

Can't you just use Sky Go? From any browser?

Soz, I'm confused about what you're trying to do, why doesn't it work in Chrome now?

Google Chrome no longer supports watching TV on this website.

Don’t worry you can keep using this service on your computer via other browsers like Internet Explorer.
We're sorry for any inconvenience this change may cause.

Oh right, quick google seems ot suggest you need Silverlight, which I think might be Internet Explorer only (not 100% sure, don't take my word for that!).

Seems best way would be to download whats here:

    http://go.sky.com/vod/page/download-tv-player.html

I use me iPad for Sky if I'm away, never watched it on a PC so lemme know if you get it sorted!

Sky Go and Sky Store both rely on a web browser technology called Silverlight to play video.

Support for Silverlight has now been removed from the Google Chrome browser.

So if you currently use Chrome to enjoy entertainment from Sky Go or Sky Store on a compatible Windows PC, laptop or Mac, you'll need to switch to a different web-browser:

    Thanks Happy.

Well good to know. Can't you just download their Sky Go Desktop thingy and watch it on that?

I have downloaded Firfox and is working fine now but thanks for the help. Maybe this might help others. I have to hide my IP address anyway to make it work costs me about £4.00 a month but worth it.

OH lol, you're not actually in Cambridge are ya? :D

Glad you got it working, and yeah, Firefox would have been my suggestion for the next browser after Chrome.

Silver light Is essentially running the stream independently so it's irrelevant what browser you are using, whatever works.

So it's a windows thing rather than a browser thing?

All I know is I got this message when I tried to use it, I'm using Firfox and had to instal silverlighte with it. Works fine now.

They sent an e-mail round recently saying Chrome won't run it any more.

I would imagine Google don't see the point of silver light and would rather focus their development time on delivering video over html 5 which is absolutely the right thing to do. Sky need to get out the dark ages with silver light. To answer your question happy, silver light Is essentially an application in its own right, so the user experience won't really differ across browsers except in chrome where it just won't work now.

Ah ok cheers, I've not had much to do with it, so wasn't really sure if it was an addon, or a standalone, or IE only, so thanks for the explanation.

    I agree about html5.
