Read this http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21258729 and thought good for him, he wants to play rather than get a fat pay cheque with no chance of a game. Nice to see in a young player.
Hope he don't live to regret it. Petr Čech is certainly No1, but Butland would be No2 IMO Hilário and Turnbull are nothing special.
Actually in theory he would most certainly have been No.3 What most football fans don't realise is that while the media have been cooing over De Gea, a little known goalkeeper, Courtois, was signed by Chelsea and loaned out to Atletico Madrid for 11/12 and 12/13 to be DG's replacement. He has 57 appearances in that time, including winning both the Super Cup (vs. his parent club) and Europa Cup (keeping a clean sheet in the final). I would like to see Torres in goal personally
Took my lad to Peterborough on Saturday. Poor result but Butland was immense. With Hart, Ruddy and Butland England now have 3 high quality keepers.
