http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2629544,00.html Just hope seeing that film does give all the new players this season an extra incentive to excel, though it shouldn't be necessary!
Every week at least one of the players comes out with some sort of fighting talk and it's followed by an insipid performance.
There's only one place it matters for a footballer and that's on the pitch. We need the players to show some long term passion and belief for our club in terms of their commitment during the game not in programme notes, the club web site or even on twitter. As with anyone who wears the hoops I am ready to re-evaluate my opinion of Barton just as soon as he starts turning in the kind of performances due from our captain and highest paid player. But TBH I still think the best option with him right now is to leave him on the bench.
I dont even bother reading, every week 2 or 3 players are put on there to spout the same old cliches and every week most of them perform like they dont even care and every time they lose.
Hopefully with Joey at the helm we have the infrastructure to stay up and that he has the infrastructure for us to get more points on the board. Let's hope he also has the infrastructure in his vocabulary so that the infrastructure of his writing doesn't contain the word infrastructure in nearly every sentence.
Think that making everyone of the players watch The Four Year Plan can actually do us some good. It's important for them to see just how much **** we had to endure to get back, it might just get them to die for the cause like the lads did last year.
Spot on - we have had all the talk before (like they're reading from a script) but this feels a bit different. Barton doesn't bury the hatchet easily (except into teammates) but he does seem a little humbled since the Premiere.
Im sure I read somewhere not so long ago for people asking to hear our players come out with some fighting talk etc etc...seems they are damned if they do...
If we're now resorting to movies for inspiration just get all the players in a room and put on bloody chariots of fire or something.
the only thing that will make most of this bunch fight for the cause will be the thought of championship wages
Sadly, with massive wages there is little 'inspiration' that actually works. The last three games have been an object-lesson in apathy with so-called 'quality' players looking like cart-horses. If we're gonna stay up some desire is essential not mealy-mouthed statements...
