Victory at Portman Road clinched back-to-back wins for Harry Redknappâs side, keeping them within touching distance of the top-two, Leicester City and Burnley, who also won at the weekend. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk in the wake of the Râs 3-1 triumph in Suffolk, Traore said: "We have to go on a run now. "We have to set ourselves small goals over the coming weeks, but we need to extend this winning run that we're on. "If we can string together four or maybe five wins in the row that will hopefully narrow the gap on Leicester - that is what we are all striving for.â Entering the fray as a 68th minute substitute at Portman Road, Traore bagged his first goal in 62 appearances for the Râs, to put the gloss on a fine second half display from Harry Redknappâs men. Capitalising on a defensive error, Traoreâs pace took him clear of the Tractor Boysâ back-four, before he took one touch to control and fire past Dean Gerken in the Ipswich goal. "I'm really happy to have scored my first goal,â said Traore. "I was maybe a bit lucky with the goal, scoring after a defensive mistake from them, but I knew my pace could get me on the end of the ball and it was a nice finish in the end.â He added: "It was 100 per-cent important that we won on Saturday. "Ipswich played very well in the first half and it was very even. "But we improved a lot in the second half, on what was a bobbly, uneven pitch, so we're all delighted. "It's three points and well-needed, especially after what Leicester did to Derby on Friday night. "The Christmas schedule was hard, playing every few days, and we lost heavily at Everton as well, so we had to bounce back.â Traore certainly made the most of his first goal for the Râs, celebrating in front of the 1,534 Rangers fans who backed their team fantastically from the first minute to the last at Portman Road. "The fans always turn up in good numbers for us and Saturday was no different,â said Traore. "The least we can do when we score is try and celebrate in front of them if they are at that end of the pitch. "That's why I ran around the goal - to celebrate with them. "I always said if I ever scored, it would be for the QPR fans. They've been great with me since I arrived here.â And having opened his goalscoring account with the Râs, the Senegalese international is determined to force his way into the starting XI over the coming weeks. "I needed more game time, which I've got from the bench in recent weeks,â he said. "I'm still getting used to the left midfield role that Harry wants me to play in. "I'm working hard in training and with the belief of my manager and my team-mates, which I feel I have, I think I can play a big part for this club. "I feel confident that I can do a really positive job for the team in the second half of the season.â http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/140114-traore-time-to-go-on-a-run-1292442.aspx
