Everton officials clarify decision to accept reduced allocation. Everton officials have clarified the chain of events that led to the decision to take a 1700 allocation of tickets for the away trip to Queens Park Rangers next month. The Blues travel to Loftus Road on 3 March and following discussions with QPR were offered two ticket options for travelling supporters â either 1700 or 3000 tickets on a guaranteed sale only basis. Everton suggested a revised sales figure of between 1700 and 3000 and also proposed that sales above the agreed figure could be on a sale or return basis. This was rejected by Rangers. A club spokesman said: "Following various discussions between the two clubs and taking into account QPRâs adult ticket price of £40/45, we have opted to take what we feel is the most prudent allocation of 1700 tickets. "We are disappointed that more Evertonians will not be down in the capital city next month cheering on the team, and whilst we tried to negotiate different terms with Queens Park Rangers, we accept and respect their decision." The news of the reduced allocation will have a knock on effect on all allocations, which will be amended accordingly. I think that it's standard practice The issue with the School End is that because of the need to segregate fans away supporters can have the entire top tier or the entire School End only. No subdivision is possible hence the 1,700 or 3,000 figures. A bit disingenuous of Everton because if they only sold 20 tickets out of 1,300 for the lower tier we wouldn't be able to sell the remainder to home fans, hence a (potential) loss of 1,280 seats sold Of course capacity is always slightly reduced in the lower tier if this is occupied by home fans as the front few rows can't be used
Standard practice which other clubs employ when we travel as well. All about maximising revenue but also ensuring as many r's get to see it as possible. Nothing more frustrating than seeing a load of space in the away end and every where else sold out.
