Well the derby is upon us, today's results are a thing of the past and the big one is next. I'm delighted that now the actual football has returned, I've read a lot of logical discussions rather than the usual **** banter of "we're gonna thump them, theyre a pile of ****, etc etc". Personally, my heart tells me we can nick it 1-0, but on the evidence of today, my head tells me we will neither come close to scoring nor conceding a goal. Therefore I'm going to predict a bore 0-0, a result that I will take right now :1980_boogie_down:

8-0 the lads, and Samson the Cat is gonna butt **** Pardew on the pitch at half time...

Joking aside, i fancy us to JUST edge it, but wouldn't be surprised to see the old faithful, 1-1.

On the evidence of both our performances today it's got 0-0 written all over it but this is derby day, when was the last goalless one?

Close game probably a draw but if anyone is going to win it will most likely be 5under1and. That was hard to admit.

The only thing I can say with utter, utter, certainty of conviction is that Barton is a twat...

yes he was, but so was Tiote and he is a god to you`s.

It is a contact sport, players will get booked and especially DM who have to protect the back 4 most of the match, if they never went in for tackles and never got booked, we would say they were not trying.

Barton just seems to be an enemy unto himself, sees red mist and explodes, today wasnt really all his fault, but he could have calmed it down a touch.

Cattermole was booked for neither nowt nor summit as usual: not for being a twat like Barton...Please don't deny it... A good percentage of your lot were saying the very same thing when you thought he was on his way!

I can see why people think he is a twat, but personally I love him. Without him our midfield would lack bite, getting him on my shirt even if he leaves!

I've just seen the Arsenal sending off incident, and Barton was once again a disgrace...Why is this criminal still allowed to play professional football?

I have no idea really, it's so hard to predict who will line up for us (other than our defense and Krul in goal). Maybe Pardew should start 4-2-3-1 against Sunderland with Ba as a lone striker and Obertan just behind.

I'd love to see Gosling start and a formation a bit like this:

    --------------------Ba--------------------
    ------------------------------------------
    Cabaye-----------Barton----------Obertan
    ----------Gosling----------Tiote-----------
    ------------------------------------------
    -Raylor----Colo------------Saylor----Simo-
    ------------------------------------------
    -------------------Krul--------------------

Should allow Cabaye to attack a bit more and puts Obertan in his best position. You could also swap Gosling with Cabaye so that Tiote and Cabaye can play together in the middle.

Anyway, it's like Pardew said today. If you don't pass the ball to Ba, he won't score. If we can create chances for him, then I reckon he could knock a few in.

I'll predict an edgy 2-1 win.

I think that next week's derby is going to be reminiscent of an extended version of Stingray..."Anything can happen in the next one and a half hours".. I want to put it out of my mind for as long as possible...
