In this time of belt tightening and austerity - when we are all in it together, it's heartening to read that whilst Public Sector workers get another pay freeze and budgets are being slashed all over the place that the Royals are to get an inflation busting 5% rise. Great news and i'm sure I speak for everyone when I say they - more than anyone - need a 5% rise. What a ****ed up country this truly is.

Over all, when the planned increases happen over the next 3 years, the increase will be well in excess of 5%. It really is quite disgusting.
I'd rather have an unelected Head of State, who bring a sense of decorum to proceedings than have a "Dubya" or similar (Bliar) making a **** of themselves on the world stage. The royals are good for Britain. No one can deny that. NO ****. (Ps, I'm not a blind Royalist, I'm not even a Royalist)
I heard a report saying the increase was due to them because their "income" from their "lands and holdings" had increased. Oh aye.
At least none of them are *****s though. Well, so far as we know. The Royals do a sterling job and bring in millions in tourism. Without that Britain would be nothing. Gord bless 'em.
