A decent point away at Portsmouth today, never an easy place to go and get a result. Especially with Southampton, Leeds and Hull losing. We need to follow this up now with 3 points against Blackpool on Tuesday night and possibly move into the top 6 depending on other results

Yeh I'm satisfied with a point, when you go 1-0 down it's nice to avoid defeat.

Desperate for a win against Blackpool on Tuesday, can't stand those guys and we could possibly overtake them into the play-offs.

We need to find some consistency from somwhere, we will need to play better and pick up some away wins at some stage, but it's early days under Pearson, I still think we need at least a winger in January, lets try and be in the play-offs by then.

Its nights like these when I WISH I wasn't banned from their board :emoticon-0149-no:

<ok> this

Why is this thread tagged with Aston Villa?

Yep, happy with the point today and I think it's hard fought results like these that are the backbone to any successful Championship side. Defence sounded decent and Kasper outstanding again when called upon. King though seemed anonymous in midfield and we sounded better when Danns came on so I wouldn't be surprised to see Neil come in mid-week.

Blackpool will probably be a more open game given the way they play and that seems to suit us and it might suit someone like Beckford especially because he likes to have space to run in-behind and Blackpool will probably give him that. A win should see us in the play-offs and we're looking up now and as long as we're in and around the upper echelons and then strengthen in January with at least a winger then I think we're well placed to kick on in the 2nd half of the season.

And to answer what was said on the radio, Nugent my player of the season so far with Schmeichel a close second.

Yeah I'd agree what a great bit of business Nugent and Schmeichel were. I think the Leeds fans that were critical of him must have either had sour grapes that he left for a bigger more ambitious club or they were watching a different keeper to the one that is playing for us! He has been outstanding!!!! Nugent too! QUALITY!

Good point for me too, but at the start of the game I was hoping for a win v a team in trouble, still an away draw 0-1 down ain´t bad.

We´ll be in the P.O´s come the end of the season... top 2 ? but things & results will be abit different around LCFC from now til the end of the season.

Ref Schmeichel; I doubted him at the start & made that known on here (in a nice way) I just did´nt think he would be good enough for us & I expected a number of "DODGEY KEEPER" chants being sung week in week out, but I´m glad to say I´ve been wrong... so far anyway. The problem is prem teams my start to take note ?

having just seen the highlights on fls there is no doubt that we have the best stopper in the league. Schmeichels' banks style save was fantastic but the rebound save after they hit the post in the second half was the best save of the match for me, and at a crucial time after we had just scored.

As with Nugent, well he has looked very good but I still feel he has a lot more in his locker this season. This will depend on how well he is playing with Beckford.

Not sure how many of you went but who were the stand out players??
