Although I thought we could have got all 3 points at some times during the game, I thought we looked hungry and closed down, worked hard, but just lacked the final flare to get a good shot away at goal, not helped by the fact Cisse is lazy. It's only been 2 days for Redknapp and I see a vast improvement, let's build on that and get our first win this weekend.
It was. However..........looking at the table we are now 8 points from 17th! Harry needs to get us winning.....fast!
For the google boffins; when was the last time we kept a clean sheet away from home? Was it Wolves away under Warnock??!!
Only seen the stats and looked as though the lads put a good shift in. The key to our survival, as last year, is home games. We need to make LR a fortress again and make sure Villa come with trepidation and Wigan too. I suspect the atmosphere on Saturday will be rocking again.
It is a good start to get a point away from home in the premiership, if we follow up with a win against Villa it will be a great start. All this talk that we had to get 3 points tonight is rubbish. There is a long way to go.
true, but we now need wins or we are fooked!.The problem is scoring. We cant get any new players in until Jan,but we just havnt looked like scoring for months!.
Agree with the OP it's a very good point away and we could of maybe nicked the 3. A good basis for arry to start on and 3 points at home to villa could well kick start our season. Onwards and upwards
It would have been a blow had Sunderland gained three points off us. There's a lot of reasons to be upbeat I reckon.
Good point for both sides. It was a must not lose for QPR though and you guys never looked like conceding. Sunderland will be content with a point given they have Reading at home with their game in hand. Villa is a must win, should be an interesting game as Villa have improved of late, not conceded since the mauling v City.
If we had any kind of cutting edge up front we could have likely taken the 3 pts tonight, but a clean sheet away from home, is at least a start.
They say any point away is a good point.. But that was, unequivocally, our (Sunderland) worst performance of the season going forward. Defensively comfortable but we were awful. I have watched QPR a few times and that is the best I've seen you play, but you still couldn't beat a woefully under performing side. I still think you're doomed personally as you will face much better than us. I don't think we'll be far ahead mind!
We will if tonight is your best performance. Harry isn't god you know, your defence looked awful and you had very little up top. Midfield you looked good but I reckon we'd have won had Cattermole not got injured. 2 poor teams tonight IMO. But we've played really well last 4 games before the QPR game and at a level where we should be. Not much to show but a decent performance in each game. We could as easily have won that game tonight with a little luck (as could you guys) 2 great stops kept us at bay and our keeper made one good save. You struggled to hit the target with any venom. 9 on target apparently, well 4 of those were simple, powerless headers that the keeper simply caught without effort. I understand your optimism but I can't see you beating many teams with a defence like yours was today
Our defence was so bad that your team scored an impressive zero against them. Your arguement doesn't hold up.
Good start but we didn't really look like scoring did we? Same old same old but it's still early days. The villa game will give us a good indication of where we're at. If we don't score again then I'd be a little worried.
Harry will try different combinations with Cisse, but I'm sure one or two new faces will come in up front in January. Still lots to play for...
