The 54 year-old, who was a guest of the club at Saturday’s fixture against Manchester United, spoke exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk and the message was clear – “There’s no reason to panic at this stage of the season.” He added: “Any of those teams in the bottom half of the table can be dragged into that fight for survival. “QPR are doing fantastic at home. It was the same in my time on the astroturf here. We hardly won away but we were so dominant when we played at home that we survived a couple of times when I was here by five or six points. “There’s no reason to panic yet as there are easily ten teams that can get dragged into that mire at the bottom of the league.” Bannister – who famously scored two hat-trick against Chelsea in his time at Loftus Road – firmly believes Harry Redknapp, flanked his old boss Joe Jordan, is the man to steer Rangers clear of the relegation zone, adding: “My old manager Joe Jordon was with me at Stoke and I think he is a fantastic bloke and a fantastic coach. “People who have been fortunate enough to meet him will know he is all skills and he loves playing football the Italian way. “I’m a big fan of Harry as well. “He’s one of these old school managers that are left in the league. I used to like playing for those sorts of managers like Brian Clough, Jack Charlton and Jim Smith. I’d put Harry amongst that category that players love to play for.”
Maybe we have Joe Jordans twin brother, Jack, who loves to play the italian blind as a bat ping pong way.
