Maxime Blanchard has signed a new contract........the length of it we do not know.......which is PAFC's policy not to divulge of late.
That is the news of the day and the best news so far. I absolutely rate Blanchard and he was essential in my opinion.
Hi Guys..If Plymborn and you Sensible were to pick the team who would you keep and who would you let go.. remember you now have a spending Cap to work with..i think i read 55 percent..being that Argyle pull in around 6000 or more that should give you a good base to work with. I also think they should sign Carl Fletcher to a contract asap.. I look forward to Sat...and your comments..
There is one to ponder on AWAYINBC.... Would get rid of:- Cole although not altogether sure if we could get better. Walton as I just don't rate the man. Hourihan or however it's spelt, don't rate him much either. Feeney because he won'tr score enough goals. Damian Johnson who is going anyway as out of contract. Would pretty much keep all the others but one or two with a little reservation. Would like us to sign MacDonald and Hemmings who might be free this summer. Would like us to sign one big one and one smaller striker who know where the net is for a change. One or maybe two in midfield who can create. we have the defensive midfield holder already. That would do it for me.
Goalies...Which of the Argyle goalies over the years was your favorite.. I go back to Jeff Barnsley with Pat Jones left full back Bryce Fulton on the right..days.. Not to mention being at Home Park against Southampton or Portsmouth..all you Sailor Boys..were you one of them Mr S. Sen.
Apparently Blanchard has signed a two-year deal. I'm very pleased as' like sensible, I think he & Purse are the reason we've survived. I'm also pleased Lecointe has signed - at least we'll get a transfer fee if the big boys do come sniffing...
AWAY IN BC........I can't argue with sensible's list, especially Walton. Goalkeeper.......Luke McCormick.....I did like him.....and would have him back if he became available.....made a mistake and paid for it dearly....only if the fans didn't get on his back, he got 7 years didn't he ?, is he out yet or soon. Mid-field genius.......and a natural goal scorer (come back BWP)...........those are both musts for us to challenge next season. ALSO......a good competant Manager.......could that be Fletcher next season.........prove me wrong Carl.
McCormick must be due out soon I would have thought but can't ever see him back here somehow. The boy had one hell of a future which is sadly gone in an instant. We are unlucky with keepers because we also had Nicholls who died in a motorbike accident. He was another with a big future. I think that keeper is one position we have seldom struggled with and it would be hard to pick one over another to be fair.
Was it really 7yrs ago that McCormick made that wrong decision...7yrs for most of us has gone by in a flash, but for him i bet it dragged on.. I remember the days in the early 60's before the breathalizer when i drove home from the pub well over the limit and got away with it.. Do i feel sorry fro McCormick? yes i do and for the victims..he's paid for that wrong decision. Soon time for him to move on..Good luck to him..
Not sure it was 7 years ago but he has done at least 5 by now. With the old good behaviour kicking in is where I think he is due out soon. I feel sorry for anyone who makes a genuine mistake but driving whilst well over the limit when you know it is wrong is less forgivable. He more or less wiped out a family with that decision so to be generous towards him sticks a bit in my gullet. If that had been my family I might have been waiting outside the prison gates and forgiveness is not the reason. He will have paid the price he was given when released but I just don't think the supporters here would ever want him back at Argyle now. I'm not sure any club in this Country would take him on either although some seem less worried about the convicted than others.
Luke McCormack.......sentence 7 years 4 months...........fatal crash 6 Oct 2008.........expected date of release June 2012,.....thats what Wikipedia say. Roughly half his sentence, been released at weekends in recent times.
A very sad affair all round but mostly for those 2 sweet little boys and their family still grieving I've no doubt, a father still probably suffering with life-changing injuries and for what? A stupid, stupid mistake and of all members our squad at that time Macormick would have been the last one I would've suspected of this type of behaviour. He has to live with what he has done but so do the family and that is where my sympathy is directed.
