For those who intend on staying with site..

Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba has paid tribute to the London Chest Hospital staff after being discharged.
The 24-year-old was technically "dead" for 78 minutes after suffering a cardiac arrest and collapsing in a game against Tottenham on 17 March and had been in hospital since then.
"I am naturally very pleased to be discharged from hospital," he said.
"I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to every single member of staff who played a part in my care."

    Plus..

Former England striker Trevor Francis has been released from hospital following his suspected heart attack.
The 57-year-old was treated at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital after being taken ill last week and had surgery to have a stent fitted.
He left on the day that Fabrice Muamba left the London Chest Hospital and Gary Lineker tweeted: "Good news all round."
Francis was the first player in British football to be transferred for £1m and has also been a manager and TV pundit.

Yes indeed, some angel was looking after him that night because if he had been anywhere else he would have been gone. No doubt about it.

It is great to see his big smile in the papers this morning. Even if he never plays football again he has his life and can hug his wife and watch his child grow up. From all I have heard about him, he will be eternally grateful for that.

I think claiming divine course is a slight insult to all the medically trained professionals who saved his life, Muamba would have died were it not for them, and any angel or god had no impact on that

Pat - I'm sure any of the more religious on here (and I'm not one) would suggest god or whoever may have given them the skill / ability to help the lad. Let's just be thankful that the lad survived and is now on the mend, praise the medical professionals and respect other people's views just a tad mate !

Religion, one of the great debates you are always told not to get into, personally though I love winding God botherers up.
According to the Catholic church the Earth was formed 10000 years ago. How then can they explain Chicxulub which is 65 Million years old. Or Dinosaurs, fossils, the Moon. And what is the big man's plan for when the Sun goes out?

Not religious. The word 'angel' was a figure of speech and my post did not require such a snippy response. I am starting to think this forum is the SMB in disguise.

I of course was concurring with Syd, as my quote from him implied, that if such a terrible event had to happen, Muamba was incredibly lucky to be in that particular place with those specific medical people around him and the London Chest Hospital so close. The events in Italy a few days ago showed how crucial quick intervention is. I, like everyone, am very proud of the skill and perseverance of every HUMAN involved in saving Muamba's life.

I understood that and am quite surprised if others did not.
